Paramore - This Is Why
90

This record is a new sound for Paramore that proves to be very fitting for the band and enjoyable for me. The jams on the project still contain the signature Paramore energy and sound, but takes more of a post-punk and dance-punk sound, with Taylor and Zac having incredible performances throughout the album. Hailey's vocals flow well with the instrumentation, taking a new form that fits the new style of the band well. While you've got your titular love songs on the project, ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
90

This record is a great step for Tyler, The Creator in his creative journey as an artist. Compared to some of his previous work, this project is a lot more energetic and hardcore, with more ambition within it's creative formula. The lyrics are more introspective and personal than most of Tyler's work, as it talks about struggles with relationships, family, and the famous life. The production takes a more rough-edged form that, while still has its psychedelic elements in it, it also has ... read more

Dove Ellis - Blizzard
85

This record is one that I can't wait to see on 2026 year end lists, for it really is the Heavy Metal of 2025. The instrumentation shares traits from that of later Mitski and even some 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.' The lyrics sing of love and life, but the vocals are what sell it to me. This man's voice is beautiful, and like no other I've heard this year. While there are vocalists just as good, he has a unique, entrancing vocal style and musical style in general. ... read more

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
95

This record is a hazy experience that feels like summer turned into a fever dream. The heavy psych and blues rock fuse into a soulful, abstract collection of catchy tunes and surreal soundscapes. Within the classic love songs are the powerful vocals of Jimi Hendrix himself, as well as his incredible guitar skills, that remain to be considered some of the greatest of all time. Overall, this record is one of the best from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and a piece of psychedelic artistry.

The Beatles - Abbey Road
100

This record shows The Beatles at an absolute songwriting peak in their careers. The production and performances are absolute perfection. The psychedelic rock medleys rival many greats today and are better in production quality than a lot of music today. The melodic progressions and transitions between tracks create a prefect, even flow for the project. The songwriting shows John Lennon and Paul McCartney each at the greatest points in their careers in my opinion. The lyrics of classic romance ... read more

Lil Ugly Mane - VOLCANIC BIRD ENEMY AND THE VOICED CONCERN
90

This record is a hypnotizing, dreamy experience laced with depressive lyricism and enchanting trip hop production. The sample-based production with elements of psychedelia, pop, hip-hop, and even shoegaze. The surreal feeling the instrumentation gives is otherworldly, and the hypnogogic nostalgia the samples give is unreal. The vocals flow together with the production extremely well. The lyrics have themes of self-reflection, existential questioning, and relationship struggles. Overall, this ... read more

JADE - THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!
85

This record is a debut from JADE that showcases lots of potential for her music in the future. The production is similar, but differs itself, from the regular dance-pop radio style, but the euphoric, ethereal feeling it gives it a unique flare compared to other albums in the style. The lyrics throughout the album are a playful show of heartbreak, love, and sex. Overall, this record is an expansive electronic experience that gives justice to this style of music.

Sudan Archives - THE BPM
70

This record is a strong showcase of potential for Sudan Archives that is unfortunately unmet on this record. The production shows an artistic fusion of house, pop, electronic dance music, and R&B, with some hip-hop influences here and there. The auto-tuned vocals flow well with the production. The lyrics are all about partying, romance, and luxury, perfect for a vibey album like this. The album starts of with a creative spark, anticipating a good hour to be spend on music, but as it ... read more

The Last Dinner Party - From the Pyre
85

This record is an intense, suspenseful experience paired with styles influenced by the likes of David Bowie or Queen. The orchestration of the glam rock jams and ballads help the album in it's artistic journey. The vocals bring a theatrical beauty to the project and empower it's uniqueness in this year's catalogue. The lyrics sing of a longing for love and affection from another. Overall, this record is a mystical, pure experience that feels lively, romantic, and beautiful.

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
80

This record is an introspective, experimental experience that guides through a journey that speaks to the soul. The warm, sample-based production turns from the commonly-used jazzy sampling to psychedelic elements and vibes. Earl Sweatshirt's flow melts into the beat extremely well, like his voice was made to rap over this production. The lyrics speak of personal growth and achievement. Overall, this record is an abstract experience that is unlike anything else I've heard this year.

Tame Impala - Deadbeat
60

This record is a turn for Tame Impala's style that could go for the better or worse, and this occasion is definitely worse. The production is very generic and non-ambitious compared to that of 'Currents'. It is a much more party-esque soundtrack that, while has it's perks and good tracks, is in desperate need for my ambition and creativity. Overall, this record shows Tame Impala fading into the background, turning a new leaf to a side that still needs improvement.

Morgan Wallen - I'm The Problem
40

This record is a showcase of Morgan Wallen's potential as an artist that is going unmet and unfulfilled. The album kicks off with two songs that preluded to an album that could at least be somewhat good, but then the songs quickly got formulaic. Additionally, this thing is almost 2 hours long, and does not support it's runtime by any means necessary. Overall, this record is a bland blend of country and pop that shows Morgan Wallen lost in his artistic journey while still hanging onto ... read more

Water From Your Eyes - It's A Beautiful Place
80

This record is a short-lived, yet amazing project. The lo-fi pop vibes throughout the album show the essence of the project; a soothing, beautiful experience gone too soon. The rock influences coenside with the synth production well. The vocals are probably the most mystical part about it, the part that guides you through the enchanted forest that is this album. Overall, this record is a stunningly beautiful project, and is only held back by it's short length.

The Orchestra (For Now) - Plan 75
85

This record is a small project that shows genuine talent and potential in British newcomers The Orchestra (For Now). The art rock influences show traits shared with that of Black Country, New Road and Geordie Greep. However, the subtle progressive, theatrical influences throughout the project set it apart from anything out right now, striking between Broadway and art rock perfectly. Overall, this record shows potential for The Orchestra (For Now) and puts me in a place where I look forward to ... read more

System of a Down - Hypnotize
100

This record is a masterpiece that I hold very dear to me as a reminder of family and as my introduction to the world of music, as I also do with System Of A Down's other 4 projects. I recently found out that this album turned 20 today, which is crazy to me. As for the greatness of the album itself, the sheer creativity Serj and Daron show in the writing for this album is phenomenal, and it along with their other projects have reshaped rock as a whole. The protesting nature of the whole ... read more

Ho99o9 - Tomorrow We Escape
75

This record has a new sound: a combination of aggressive hip-hop and hardcore punk. The production often features trap elements, while always maintaining a heavy electric guitar in the back. The vocals often features rap performances, screams out of a heavy metal concert, and reverbed punk choruses. Overall, this record, though short-lived and rough around the edges, shows high potential for Ho99o9 if they are able to fully channel their talents into a project.

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
85

This record is a boundary-breaking phenomenon for music in my eyes. The production is the key thing that brings this album to life. From the experimental dance music to the purely chaotic, noisy sounds, the energetic flow of it all makes it digestible and not too dense. The lyricism simply brings up partying, love, and sex, which is perfect for this album, which basks in it's production quality. Overall, this record proves to me that music always has the ability to sound good, and damn ... read more

Nourished By Time - The Passionate Ones
85

This record is a creative output into the world of pop this year. With the oddly soothing and catchy vocals from Marcus Brown, or Nourished By Time, the album sets itself apart from others as an entrancing, hypnotic experience. The production is otherworldly, bringing modern and past production elements to create a hypnogogic pop and alternative R&B oddity. The lyricism yearns for the love and care of another, showing am obsession with this lover, sometimes tied into the cult metaphor ... read more

FKA twigs - EUSEXUA Afterglow
80

This record is an incredible follow-up to FKA twigs' earlier 2025 release, simply titled 'EUSEXUA.' With this album, twigs creates a calmer, more sensual atmosphere from this album's predecessor, which was an more intense party vibe. This album is also double the horny despite its title as an 'afterglow.' The production combines sounds inspired by the past and yet futuristic in nature, creating an innovative and unique style. The vocals are glitchy and ... read more

Danny Brown - Stardust
85

This record is an expansive experience of experimentation and pure artistic value. The production is futuristic and genre-bending, with a intense vibe that controls the power of the music. The album features an explosive energy from experienced hip-hop mastermind, Danny Brown, coming back in an incredible glory after his collaboration with JPEGMAFIA in 2023. His raps and flows are unique and define the sound of this album. Overall, this record is an energetic, electronic, and experimental haven ... read more
