28 minutes of absolute musical perfection. This album has made me feel things on days where I thought feeling was impossible. Nick Drake understood too much about this cruel world, and God bless him for making this beautiful music. Every second of this album is beautiful. I love Nick Drake and this album is one of the best things ever created. Go listen to this now.
It's was just mid until Billy started singing, then it turned bad.
How can you be sad when listening to this album? Absolute masterpiece. Ween are the best band of all time, I won't be hearing otherwise.
I accidentally listened to Ween's third album before this one, not realising this existed but now listening to it there's a much steadier evolution from their first album their third - the second song on this album, Edgar, features weird synths and electrical sounds, which makes the weird effects on their third album make more sense evolution wise. Even though Edgar soundwise is much more interesting that anything they had done on their first album, it is very much a drag and goes for ... read more
I know I said I was listening to Ween's albums in order BUT I DIDNT SEE WEEN/SMERSH SO I ACCIDENTALLY SKIPPED IT π
This album is actually quite good though. Much more than their first album, there is hints of great songwriting and what Ween would become. There's some genuinely great songs on here, and unlike their first album there is actually some form of production in this album, and the riffs are much better and more interesting than their first album. I will get to ... read more
Ween are one of my favourite bands but I'm ashamed to admit that I've never listened to all of their stuff, and I figure doing it in order would be pretty fun. This is their first ever album, and you can tell that they were like 16 or something whenever they made this. It's actually a pretty funny album, if you showed me this back in 1986 and told me this band would go on to make something like Quebec I would probably not believe you. Unlike their less obscure early stuff like ... read more
Some may say there's no such thing as music being powerful enough to change someone. I mean it sounds insane, some sounds being put together and somehow being able to change a person? Sounds ridiculous. But somehow, it's true. Music can change you. Some music is so powerful that it makes you see things differently, makes you think about things in a way you've never though before. Albums such as this - Birthing, by Swans, are one of the albums that can do that.
When this album ... read more
As someone who likes to tell myself that I'm well versed in music and modern music history, I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't listened to Jeff Buckley's Grace in full until today. Grace is an album that is praised by many people worldwide, critics and casual listeners alike, it is an album that can unite many different sub-groups of music culture, and an album like this is an extremely rare occurrence in music. An album which was the artist's only album released while ... read more
Don't care what anyone says, Stone Sour is a great fuckin band. They do their job and they do it well, nothing to flashy or amazing, but they have some really great songs.
Cash grab. No one gaf about yo demos and shit. Just release Look outside your window bruh
Why do I keep getting into artists that are never going to release another album ever why do I do it to myself
R.I.P Chuck, you're legacy still brings people to your amazing music to this day.
This is the sound that so many bands tried, and try, to imitate, but this album is the original. And it's pretty damn good. The opening track started this album with a bang, and kept the momentum for the next few songs until it slowed down a bit in the middle. The last few songs picked the energy back up though. I liked this album, and I'm excited to return to it in the near future.
