Anybody who rates this a 85 or higher is overrating it. Even my 82 rating is pushing it in my opinion. This record was better than I expected to be fair, but it's still overrated. Most of the songs here aren't even written by Michael Jackson. Even the iconic Thriller wasn't written by him. The only songs written by him are Billie Jean, Beat It, and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'. I appreciate the experimentation but it did not work out. Dangerous has a few classics but also has some boring, repetitive, long songs that make me go sleep. The rap features on this record are surprisingly good for the most part. The rap feature on Jam was definitely unnecessary and literally added nothing to that track, but the rap feature on She Drives Me Wild saved it from being a boring listen and led to the rest of the track being decent. Honestly, I can’t tell if Track C – Group Dancers (Soul Fusion) (Freewoman and Oh, This Freedom's Slave Cries) is better than Mode D – Trio and Group Dancers (Stop! Look! And Sing Songs of Revolutions!) / Mode E – Single Solos and Group Dance (Saint and Sinner Join in Merriment on Battle Front) / Mode F – Group and Solo Dance (Of Love, Pain, and Passioned Revolt, Then Farewell, My Beloved, 'Til It's Freedom Day) or not.
u is overrated but Alright, Wesley’s Theory, and The Blacker The Berry make up for it
