Listening to this whilst already being a big fan of the music he makes now definitely makes this a strange listen, because it dials back a lot of the artistry and musical maturity he has now, but there's still some definite highlights on this. The title track stands out to me especially, I just loved it.
Some unexpected genre experimentation in places and a really deeply pensive feel to this one. Some of the songs didn't need to be as long as they are, but very strong project overall.
The vocal mixing is off in some places and it doesn't feel like it has as much soul as some of his earlier work but still very much solid.
Damn near just as good as the first one. This is legit music that makes me feel like a mob boss in the best way possible, with the luxurious beats and the confident, effortless rapping from Freddy.
Revisiting this after a long time after Vanisher made me reevaluate completely how amazing this record is. I noticed things I missed before, and the magic of IDMTHY fully settled over me at last.
Figured I'd check out the original Alfredo before the sequel. Freddie is amazing but Alchemist is absolutely the MVP of this record, because the production is UNBELIEVABLE. Genuinely every beat feels so cinematic and graceful, like the tracks hold a really elegant sort of power.
Are you ever just left without absolutely any words?
Well, I still have a few left, but it really isn't much. This album is a genuine masterpiece. It's so good it's made me relisten and reevaluate his previous album. It's so good that I was legitimately out of breath by the end while not having even moved anywhere. The dynamic work is unreal; the production makes it truly feel like a solitary adventure in an endless realm of nothing but water. Beautiful, haunting, ... read more
A beautiful work full of unpredictable and incredibly satisfying musical twists and turns, and capped off with one of the best album closers of the century.
It's not as bad to me as people seem to think it is overall. Not the most original album by a long shot but I had fun listening to it ultimately. Is it largely the beats? Yes. Is the stretch of the last couple of songs very bad? Also yes. All that said, yeah, not that bad.
Sometimes you're not here to sit down and get introspective. Sometimes, you come to get on your feet and dance. Sometimes, you just want to have a damn good time. And that's exactly what DON'T TAP THE GLASS is - but with some beautiful production still present throughout, because Tyler is a brilliant producer. It's lots of fun, but still makes time for some emotional moments here and there, especially towards the end.
I was sitting at 999 ratings on this website, and I figured what better to be my 1000th than the Minecraft soundtrack. It feels kind of surreal to finally listen to this album in full, arguably over a decade too late, but that didn't take away from the nostalgic wonder and magic of the music. It is truly remarkable that the silly game where everything is square has unironically one of the most beautiful soundtracks ever created, but here we are - this is absolutely phenomenal.
This album feels like a ploy to make Ordinary not sound as awful by comparison. Dude I promise you there's no need to exaggerate everything THIS much. If not for Benson Boone this guy would easily hold the title of the most overwrought singer on the planet. Lyrics are basic and incredibly cheesy, production is overly polished, no personality or charisma in sight - a bunch of nothing. The first part last year was quite bad, but this complete edition just straight up sucks.
I don't know what I was smoking when I originally gave this a 6/10 last year. My God.

Jesus Christ, what a mess. One of the most disorganized, half-heartedly spat out, confused rap albums I've ever heard. The beats are largely very good but the performances over them are often so awful that there's nothing that can salvage the songs.
I am genuinely shocked by how good this is. I wasn't expecting this whatsoever, but I absolutely loved this album. It's a gorgeous record, with stunning production and great introspective lyricism. This deserves way more hype, it's one of the best singer-songwriter records of the year.
The first half is pretty decent in places, but the second half bar the last actual Justin Bieber song is AWFUL. Genuinely miss after miss for like 10 tracks in a row. The Druski skits are dumb, and the Sexyy Red feature is awful. Why are either of those two on the album? Why is Cash Cobain? Why are there 21 songs? Why are the mixes so bad on a lot of the songs? Why is he floating off into the void half the time? Why did he drop this with no rollout whatsoever? Why is his @ on Instagram now ... read more
Pusha T and Malice rap with such pure venom and disdain that it feels like I personally offended them somehow. I don't know about culturally inappropriate but I will tell you this is an incredible rap album. The bar work is so intricate and purposeful, the deliveries and flows are on point every single time, the features all kill - everything about this is a pure victory lap, with Clipse showing off their greatness, and the fact they have absolutely nothing left to prove.
