Polo G - HOOD POET
45

I didn't think the songs on here were bad, but as a former big Polo fan I want something new. This was the same stuff, and he is fading out of my music radar sadly. Need someone like Metro on production, and a concise storytelling project that has substance

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
85

Possibly the best front to back listen of the year. No skips, and straight southern bangers, 5th best of 2024. If we count the deluxe it may be like an 85/100.

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
50

Gave us a few peaks to prime Slim Shady, but overall a mid - good album.

James Blake - Bad Cameo
60

Not sure if there are any bad songs, but many of them feel like they are missing a climax. The replay value isn't there for me. Yachty doesn't feel at home on here, despite me really enjoying Lets Start Here

Lupe Fiasco - Samurai
70

Nice collection of material, with some surprisingly groovy production. The intro is the best song on here for sure

Ski Mask the Slump God - 11th Dimension
60

A good album. very hit or miss, but when Ski hits a pocket he has one of the best flows in rap. I feel like he has amazing potential bc of his ability, but most likely will never get to see it...

NxWorries - WHY LAWD?
89

A standout RnB record, that's deservingly a top 5 AOTY for me. Such a smooth listen front to back, with Knxwledge producing a beautiful soundscape.

Vince Staples - Dark Times
90

A no skip album, with amazing song after amazing song. The writing is so incredible, and Black n Blue is peak

Future - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU
70

A cool melodic project from Future and Metro. Some great songs, but not as good as the 1st installment. That 2nd disc of leftovers is amazing too

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
85

Up there for 2024 Rap AOTY. It has the most bangers, and has the best trap song of the year imo WTFYM.

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
80

Such a great piece of work for Q. Thank God 4 Me is one of the best bangers of the year, beat switch is nasty.

21 Savage - american dream
70

Feels like his best non-Metro album, but it hasn't aged the best. Redrum, all of me, and red sky are peak songs though

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
79

2-3 skips, and not as conceptual as his other work. That wasn't the goal though, and with bangers like wacced out murals, squabble up, hey now, reincarnated, tv off, and gloria it is a top 5-7 album of 2024.

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
80

Minimal replay-ability, but it is super conceptual. The writing is exceptional throughout the whole LP. Some really big highlight moments off of this one, but I think you're kinda weird if you just bump this one on the regular.

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
85

Some of his worst songs appear on this one, but it also has some of his most replay-able material, like DNA and XXX.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

I don't love listening to this one, but you can't deny the genius of it, as it's a conceptual and lyrical masterpiece w/ some funky jazz production

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city
100

A masterfully cohesive album that blends cinematic storytelling with sharp lyricism. It immerses you into the city of Compton and the struggles that come with it so well.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
75

Not as polished as his future work, but still a good album with some nice highlights. Including HiiPower and ADHD

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
95

The highly anticipated UTOPIA plays in the same ballpark as his previous classic albums, Rodeo & Astroworld. This LP has a very full and grandiose feel, that is very reminiscent of Kanye's work. It feels like a mix of Yeezus and Donda.

Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD
95

An amazing album that can be compared to his debut, Rodeo. Its falls just a bit short because I prefer the highs of Rodeo. This is the best example of Scott world building within is projects.
