Yeezus is the best example of "don't judge a book by its cover." 10 tracks 40 minutes and a plain cd with a red sticker as the cover made by an artist that just made the most acclaimed album of his career, all signs point to Kanye playing it safe but that couldn't be more wrong. In the current climate of hip hop with rage becoming one of the most popular subgenres Yeezus can seem even bland by comparison but this album is still as insane as when it first came out. On sight ... read more
Watch The Throne is the victory lap of MBDTF with 2 giants collaborating to make an album that is more fun than anything. No church is a defining moment of the 2010s as well as in Paris making waves in pop culture. Otis is perhaps the most core fanbase loved for a reason a show of rapping skill and chemistry between the two. that's my bitch is a classic Kanye ego track which is still catchy gotta have it and who gon stop me are subpar but still enjoyable (not that second half of who gon ... read more
To be honest this ep shows the beginning of mastery for a band, while it may not be the most original music of all time they have THAT indie rock sound down to a tee so i have high expectations for what the band has in store
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is Kanye's magnum opus. After 808s and heartbreak which at the time wasn't very well received and the incident at the grammies Kanye was in a do or die place in his musical career but pressure makes diamonds and this may have been the best thing that have possibly come out of this. Now onto the actual music Dark fantasy is Kanye's way of letting people know he's still Kanye and he isn't going anywhere same goes for gorgeous with its ... read more
In honor of the 20th anniversary of this album I figured Id go back to this album and I never regret listening to this again this is still as entertaining as the first listen the view from the afternoon is still one of the best opening tracks on an album in general dancefloor and fake tales are nearly as good but the album hits kind of a repetitive stint in the middle dancing shoes to red light but I still adore those tracks especially riot van but the real cream of the crop is the end of this ... read more
808s and heartbreak is an album that is incredibly hard to write a review about because it seems to have everything about it spoken about 1000 times. But that's the thing about this album people will never stop talking about it, for the reason that its influence and quality will never be overestimated. The album itself though through its influence is still an absolutely amazing. With catchy synth pop like headless, paranoid, and RoboCop to devastating cuts like street lights bad news and ... read more
Great song and hopefully a return for something more for this band before this came out it was said this was from the AM era but this sounds new asf like the car era at least but it has remnants from am/humbug era
With everything about this albums technical impressiveness and work put into it you'd think it would be great but it turns out to be mostly boring with and kind of basic in sound not to say there's no highlights right in two and vicarious are pretty good but the 2 parts of wings? Come on they aren't bad but I almost fell asleep listening
A cool little selection of leaving meaning demo nothing stunning but u didn't expect that I do want to give props to the hanging mans demo as good if not better then the album version but the worst thing on here is the demo of my phantom limb is incredibly boring. A lot of people call swans boring but that might be one of the only actually boring swans songs overall a slightly worthwhile listen and it's fun to see how the tracks evolved
The final album of one of the most iconic trilogies in music history Graduation is the victory lap for late registration. Graduation came in a time and place where Kanye had his spot in the industry but he wasn't at the top yet or not until this came out. Graduation is the least "pure hip hop" of the trilogy but that plays to its strengths as the beats on this album take you back to a place you never went to. The opening tracks are some of the most memorable songs in that era ... read more
Late Registration is Kanye wests true masterpiece. The College Dropout was Kanye finding his footing and navigating the kind of insane hip hop scene of the 2000s but late registration is him solidifying his place forever everything from his debut got taken and amplified to 100 the orchestral elements the features the pure rapping ability, even the skits which are so ahead of their time make this album a proper experience every track fits perfectly together as well you can tell how ... read more
With bully allegedly releasing soon I figured if go back through Kanye's discography and see if I have any new opinions about them and I definitely do for the debut. Now the college dropout is commonly cited as the best Kanye album but I disagree it starts off great with we don't all falls down spaceship and Jesus walks but never let me down and get em high are just not as good as the rest of this album and seem pointless in the tracklist school spirit and breathe in breathe out ... read more
DON'T BE DUMB sees rocky return after 8 years with a batch of pretty good tracks but to be honest that's pretty much it most of these songs can be just good not great due to the fact that they sort of feel like skeletons of a final song and don't have much to make them stand out, of course there are exceptions but that's my overall takeaway there are some interesting songs mainly my personal favorite ROBBERY with doechii now this could have been extremely annoying but rocky ... read more
Pretty good album but I feel like it's very overrated the front half feels good but with some of these tracks something is missing to make it to its full potential while in the back half the ambient songs drag not to the point of being bad but they could've been more besides my criticisms I really enjoy the drums on this album and the electronic elements on the first half work really well most of the time
Schlagenheim will forever be remembered for changing the experimental rock scene forever and matt was a crucial part of that please remember to check in on your loved ones if they're experiencing any mental health problems take care of yourself and Rest In Peace Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin
The thing about this band from this album is they almost have it, everything in the rest of the band is pretty much there even the vocalist wether you like it or not has the monotone spoken word style down well enough but the problem lies in the lyrical content and for a band who's main gimmick is not trying vocally it's ironic that the biggest flaw is trying too hard to be profound lyrically when using spoken word you have to make sure that when you're trying to be deep ... read more
Cool ep but it struggles to find originality in most songs the track ORANGE is a more pop rap track and I think it's the most interesting song here other than that it has similar pitfalls to a different 2026 chipmunk soul project the next bus stop by amar333 I'm mentioning this because they sound so similar along with other of these new age chipmunk soul/ jazz rap artists the only album that really achieved this is egotrip but that album did something interesting with the sound ... read more
I like this the almost the same as the 2009 version the only thing better is Eleanor Rigby being fixed a little otherwise about the same
