Lovejoy - Wake Up & It's Over
68

It's missing a second vocalist and mediocre overpriced painting in the music videos

domer - domer
50

This album exists in music purgatory between good and bad, between sample and stealing between music and not so the question is what to rate it? Well 50 of course considering I also didn't hate listening for 3 minutes

My New Band Believe - My New Band Believe
77

Basically new black midi

After the collapse of bm the members really only had one thing to do which is make more music. And while it's no secret Geordie greep came out with the new sound which is pretty much universally hailed as great the other members had something to prove leading up to my new band believe. Now this project is a different genre than bm but the progressiveness of the music still remains heavy even in folk. Even so you can definitely still hear bm in this one (especially ... read more

MIKE - POMPEII // UTILITY
80

POMPEII // UTILITY has been one of my most looked forward to albums this year mostly because of the unfamiliarity. I've listened to earl before and not enjoyed his stuff that much other than solace but the reason I've been looking forward to this is MIKE which I've also never listened to but seeing he's under the trap/plugg genre excited me because Ive always thought especially on earls last albums he just doesn't mesh too well with the music his zombie rap didn't ... read more

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
44

So... This is it? The extravaganza generational AOTY 26' is this? okay. Well I'll start off with the good because this album definitely has good the intro track I will overcome sets the stage for this album perfectly which isn't necessarily a good thing but it does either way winter woman is one of the more simple tracks on the first leg of the album and it does it's job very well it's not too in your face about the point and it's musically nice and click clack ... read more

Model/Actriz - Swan Songs
68

Model/Actriz are getting better and I don't really believe it I heard Pirouette and didn't like it at all the singer came off as annoying and borderline ear grating and the instrumentals came off as uninspired and boring even for such an entertaining genre as industrial rock but swan songs changes the status quo in a really refreshing way. It starts off the the best M/A song I've heard it takes what Pirouette was trying to be intense, edgy, alternative, and entertaining it packs ... read more

Kanye West - BULLY
62

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I got what I wanted I guess? Before this album came out I set the baseline of better than V1 and JIK (both 56 imo) and it did better but it's not exactly out of the woods yet (I know it will get updated I just want to review it not for first thoughts) well starting off with my biggest complaint THERES STILL SOME FUCKING AI HOW and I know it might've been a little naive to think there wasn't gonna be but "BULLY ON THE WAY NO AI" seems pretty sure ... read more

56

With BULLY on the verge of release with no AI I figured I'd look back on (hopefully) worse times for albums and while I Don't think VULTURES 1 is necessarily bad It's still very flawed. But I think it's best to start off with the good DO IT PAID and BURN are all great party songs and nail the simple pop rap/trap vibe the album was going for STARS and BEG FORGIVENESS are good songs on the mellow side and have good production and that's mostly it with the really strong ... read more

Finn Wolfhard - Happy Birthday
71

While being admittedly derivative and basic for an indie rock record Happy Birthday pleases Wand works to make its flaws into advantages. Finn Wolfhard nails the campy indie sound and perpetuates it well by not overstaying his welcome and finding quality in simplicity. Not to say there aren't flaws, if there weren't I wouldn't be content with the runtime sometimes it gets too reminiscent of other indie rock especially on Eat! it can get a little annoying even at times (Happy ... read more

underscores - U
46

I usually dont mind this type of hyperpop/dance pop but the way underscores crafts these songs especially on the back half just make it the most annoying thing possible, especially in the genre which my main gripe with is it sounds too samey most of the time U does exactly that and then some with not just boring beats and overused structure but straight up ear grating stuff at some points, While not all bad U is really the bottom of the barrel when it comes to hyperpop in general.

James Blake - Trying Times
75

James Blake returns in 2026 with a project that showcases his beautiful, controlled, and talented vocals but I think he uses his voice as a crutch at times. I like this project the most when it goes into groovy, nearly house tracks that pair well with his voice but tracks like obsession and make something up lean into unimpressive but well made territory.

Don Toliver - OCTANE
64

With the release of OCTANE don toliver had something to prove he was already beloved in trap communities but otherwise he was brushed off as another boring melodic trap artist. Now I haven't heard another full don toliver album before this but I have heard many of his songs outside of albums and they were mostly pretty good. Now that leads me to the main complaint for this album which is that it sounds cookie cutter at times. His X factor was his groovy trap so that you could put on any ... read more

Djo - DECIDE
77

I was never really interested in Steve from stranger things music career until now I knew he had a cult fanbase and hearing end of beginning over and over again didn't really help that because I was never crazy about it but after seeing he was going on tour with tame Impala I decided (ha decide) to check this album out and it was a lot better than expected. Djo actually has an interesting take on 80s nostalgia music that most artists do. He's able to creat the 80s vibe without leaning ... read more

Joji - Piss In The Wind
53

The definition of the saying piss in the wind is to do something that is ineffective or a waste of time which really encapsulates what it was to listen to this album. It's really just 45 minutes of concepts that could have been great but it just turns out to be boring. The beat are mostly okay to good but the worst part about this record is the lyrics, they are fucking Godawful seriously this songwriting reads like it's the first album form a 16 year old after their first breakup and ... read more

Swans - Greed

This album sucks don't listen to it

Kanye West - ye
100

ye is an album that is best described by its title because that's exactly what it is a true look into ye's mind. I thought about killing you does it best with the spoken word intro and the switch inro the aggressive rapping style that were used to which continues with yikes and all mine serving as a style fans are comfortable with but still evolving the lyricism and rapping quality. The second part of this album dives deeper into his personal affairs with wouldn't leave and no ... read more

83

The Life Of Pablo is the beginning of the end in Kanye's career. This is when it all started to go wrong the bipolar diagnosis support of trump changes to albums after release and just controversy in general. But looking back on this, especially today of all days TLOP seems just as relevant 10 years later as it is today in his discography. To start off the album ultralight beam was probably the only way it could have been a Christian song with amazing background vocals and a still stellar ... read more

Kanye West - Yeezus
95

Yeezus is the best example of "don't judge a book by its cover." 10 tracks 40 minutes and a plain cd with a red sticker as the cover made by an artist that just made the most acclaimed album of his career, all signs point to Kanye playing it safe but that couldn't be more wrong. In the current climate of hip hop with rage becoming one of the most popular subgenres Yeezus can seem even bland by comparison but this album is still as insane as when it first came out. On sight ... read more

JAY-Z & Kanye West - Watch the Throne
80

Watch The Throne is the victory lap of MBDTF with 2 giants collaborating to make an album that is more fun than anything. No church is a defining moment of the 2010s as well as in Paris making waves in pop culture. Otis is perhaps the most core fanbase loved for a reason a show of rapping skill and chemistry between the two. that's my bitch is a classic Kanye ego track which is still catchy gotta have it and who gon stop me are subpar but still enjoyable (not that second half of who gon ... read more

Westside Cowboy - So Much Country 'Till We Get There
74

To be honest this ep shows the beginning of mastery for a band, while it may not be the most original music of all time they have THAT indie rock sound down to a tee so i have high expectations for what the band has in store
