A confusing record from Gojira. The first four, maybe five, tracks are nonstop heavy bangers, but then it kinda loses that traction moving forward. Grind is a great conclusion to the record but the second half of the album really takes a nose dive once we reach Fortitude. It felt like this album was trying to tackle too many things at once and it results in a product that could have worked if given more time to polish its inconsistencies.
