The last album of legendary group Pink Floyd is just a set of ambient pieces, some of them, though, could be suitable for a sountrack to the final descent from the stage. Overall, the record feels dry as it's mostly made of leftovers from 'The Division Bell'. But maybe it had to end like that, with an easy, peaceful sound to end the great story of successes, dramas, separations and finally, passion.

'The Division Bell' feels not that important at all, it's just another album with nothing really new musically to offer from the group, rather just weaker face of Floyds' style, but still with some moments showing they haven't yet lost it all. Some of the lyrics are creative with numerous references to Roger Waters or even another ex-member, Syd Barrett. Pink Floyd release another album after leader's, Roger Warters' departure. This time it's more of a David Gilmour's solo album which sustains the Floyds' style with many guitar solos animating the sound of the LP. The vocal parts in a lot of moments sound kind of dry but instrumentals build a melancholic but hopeful atmosphere and ambience. An almost solo album of Roger Waters is a project composed of his anger and dissapointment about the world, mainly with wars still being an important part of it. He wanted to express it once again after the Falklands War between the United Kingdom and Argentina. 'The Final Cut' can be seen as, in some way, a second part of 'The Wall', sustaining a symphonic atmosphere and military topics.
