This album is a different kind of depression that I've never seen anywhere else. Other sad songs feel like just that: sad songs about sad things, like your girlfriend leaving you or how lonely you are. But some of these songs genuinely get me mourning like someone I loved is dead. Minerva feels like the end of the whole world.
I don't cry much. I used to cry all the time whenever something bad happened when I was younger, but depression sort of just curbed that ig. And I never cry to ... read more
This album comes at you all at once and just keeps going at that intense rate nearly the whole way through, rarely letting you catch your breath, and it doesn't stop until it's done with you. Just like my uncle. But I like it better when Glassjaw does it
Post-hardcore emo vs progressive metalcore who's winning the every song sounding exactly the fucking same competition
The first half is honestly kinda meh but holy fuck that second half is some of the best shit they've ever put out
100th (actual) album review!!!!!!!!!!!! Why tf this got a 65 user score this is great
I don't usually rate singles but fuck me man this is such an amazing song
That... was a lot better than I remember it being last time I listened. Still pretty boring, but it's a fine album.
I'm sorry black people, I liked Compton and Sing About Me and the namesakes but I couldn't force myself to like the rest of the album
Edit: Moved it up to a 65 because I have a new respect for the album after hearing the story behind it but I still don't really fuck with it that much
Hear me out: This band is like Dick Grayson Robin/Nightwing. Like he kicks ass on his own but every now and then you get those little symbols of Batman that make the character that much cooler to audiences.
Deftones is Batman is what I'm getting at basically
Fred Durst got replaced with an evil clone who wanted to destroy his reputation for this album so we don't talk about this one ok
I tend to have a subconscious objection to any piece of music released before 1990 and I don't want that to limit me so, baby steps, I'm listening to Nirvana's 1989 debut! This will be the oldest album I've ever rated! Let's see if we can break this stigma in my head!!
It made the stigma stronger
Very same-y and nothing all that special admittedly but idk I fuck with this band's energy heavy for some reason. Tear Away and Bodies go hard.
Also this raccoon fucker needs to fr fuck off with everyone else who did the "nu metal challenge". You don't have to like the genre but stop making these shitty ass reviews acting like these albums are the worst thing since 9/11 and being all dramatic. Like stfu fr it goes hard.
