Monica's best album to date. She reminds me of Whitney Houston; give her a good song and she makes it a hit with her BIG voice while almost never taking matters in own hands to create them herself. Even though she never really found her own style by creating a unique sound like Brandy and Aaliyah (which those sounds are very present on this album) she still manages to include her edgy, bad ass bitch persona which sets her apart. Great great great album, especially in this day and age. Only issue I have is that a lot of songs feel like they were written or adjusted to fit in with angsty teenagers instead of them being a 100% authentic reflection of the life of a 30 year old woman. Not saying that she wasn't personal on these songs but I feel like the lyrics were intentionally more generelized and obvious in what they were trying to say.
