A throwback to the mid to late 00s when the internet was saturated with these somewhat generic sounding electro club artists. Soulwax was one of the more notable one of these artists, specifically for some of their fantastic remixes of other songs. Although the 'essential' concept isn't worthy of a full hour it delivers playfully entertaining material for a good portion of it.

Its possible the engrossing and memorable moments on this release provide new thrills due to the precedent thats been set with their previous mildly ambitious "inbetween eps", but if this is what I get while I wait for a band to put out its next good relaase, which it has done on a yearly basis, then sign me the fuck up.
Not trying to sound ignant, but I feel like if Jlin was a white guy from New York Pitchfork wouldnt even review his albums.
