Lana Del Rey - Paradise
67

Paradise is a continuation of the themes and sounds present on Born To Die... But the songs are just not as strong as the ones on on that. The album includes some career highlights like "Ride" and "Gods & Monsters", as well as an amazing music video for Ride.

I don't listen to this EP a lot, and it sort of feels like a bunch of Born To Die outtakes compiled into an EP... which is probably exactly what it is. It's a damn good bunch of bonus track though in that ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Born to Die
85

Born To Die is an amazing debut with a cohesive, fresh sounds that has aged like fine wine unlike most other albums that came out in 2012. Lana's aesthetics and sounds on this album are glamorous, grandiose, and an amazing satire of the american dream, and the pinnacle of american beauty.

The reason some critics are so harsh on this album is because they take everything literally. Lana isn't that one note, you've gotta read between the lines and understand the blatant satire that these songs ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Sirens

This album is absolutely not a neccesary listen for anyone who wants to get into Lana, in fact i'd say to skip it as you're not really missing out on anything. The only songs on this thing i come back to somewhat often is Drive By and My Momma. The rest are just a blur to me.

A lot of this album is very samey, it's all played with the same guitar chords and melodies. I don't wanna slam it too hard since this is some of Lana's first work, but she got so much better down the line.

Lana Del Rey - Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant

Lana's real debut album is this record, and although it's a good album that introduces Lana's sound and style of songwriting nicely, it doesn't hold a candle to any other Lana record out there. I rarely revisit this album and i'm not really all that upset that it's not on streaming services. It's cohesive, it's alright, but you're not really missing out on anything groundbreaking.

Although, i would reccomend listening to some of the highlights, this album includes some great tracks, like the ... read more

Björk - Fossora
78

If Utopia is an album that takes place in the sky, Fossora takes place in an underground wonderland. I like the direction that Björk took with this album sonically and visually (although I wish the atopos single cover was the actual album cover)

This album includes some career highlights for sure, but it also includes some of my least favorite Björk songs too, unfortunatly... That really drags the score down..

HIGHLIGHTS: Atopos, Ancestress, Fungal City, Freefall, Fossora

Björk - Utopia
84

Utopia is Björk's least accessible album, there's no doubt. But when you get into it you discover a paradise, a world in the clouds with birds and trees and extraterrestrial creatures. It's truly breathtaking sonically, and ESPECIALLY visually. The visuals for this record are definitely Björk's best, and Arca's work on this album truly brings it to life.

Björk and Arca truly made an amazing album, and it took me some time to warm up to it, but I love this album now. ... read more

Björk - Vulnicura
100

This is a masterpiece. It's emotional, it's breathtaking sonically and visually. I don't know what to say except that this is a perfect album and i don't know if it'll ever be topped by anything else.

HIGHLIGHTS: Stonemilker, Black Lake, Family, Atom Dance, Quicksand
LEAST FAVORITE: Mouth Mantra

Björk - Biophilia
72

Biophilia is like Medúlla in the way that the concept is intriguing and really cool, but i don't really care for some of the songs. I definetly have to be in a specific mood to listen to this record.

Biophilia is probably my least favorite album by Björk, but i don't dislike any songs on here. It just kind of lacks the very high highs that all other Björk albums have.

HIGHLIGHTS: Thunderbolt, Virus, Mutual Core
LEAST FAVORITE: Sacrifice, Solstice

Björk - Volta
87

Volta is Björk's most underrated record by far. Is it her best? No. Is it her worst? HELL NO. This album feels like an adventure through and through, and this album includes some of my personal favorite songs by Björk, and it really feels like a sort of return to some of the sounds of Post and Homogenic, with some hints towards Björk's future direction.

I will always be a Volta defender, and i know some of the songs on here are on the weaker side, but the highs are some of the ... read more

Björk - Medúlla

This album is definetly Björk's most experimental project to date. This album is her most interesting concept to me, a vocal album. It's an amazing concept, almost every sound on this project is made by a human voice, and it's truly impressive.

Although I love a lot of songs on this album, some songs are just good in concept and are a bit too weird or boring for me. But when this album does it good, it does it great.

Björk - Vespertine
83

Vespertine feels like looking out a window in the country side, and seeing a landscape covered in snow, with a cup of hot chocolate in your hand and a blanked wrapped around you. A true winter wonderland album. This is probably Björk's most acclaimed album, and a clear fan favorite. Personally, it's not my favorite Björk album, but i do recognize that it's a truly breathtaking album. The unique and intimate production of tracks like "Cocoon" & "Aurora", and the ... read more

Björk - Homogenic
99

Homogenic is a departure from the more safe and more mainstream-friendly sounds of Debut and Post and feels like the first real taste of the Björk we know and love today. This album feels harsh and cold in a way that makes it truly breathtaking. It feels like a true tribute to Björk's country of origin, Iceland. It's the first album of her I'd consider a true masterpiece. The album feature some career highlights like "Bachelorette" and "Jóga", and one of her ... read more

Björk - Post
85

Post is where Björk really breaks out of her shell, and shows a new side of her musical capabilities. Listening to Post makes me feel like i'm in a big city at night. The soundscapes, lyrics and visuals of this album create an amazing urban environment. This album shows off Björk's more aggressive side on songs like "Army of Me" and "Enjoy". Also more experimental cuts near the end like "Cover Me" & "Headphones".

Björk - Debut
80

Björk's debut album is a great startoff point for her, and the sounds explored on her future albums can all be traced back to this album in one way or another. This album feels so curious, it feels like an adventure, and it feels like something fresh and new while still maintaining that catchy 90's sound. This is definetly Björk's most accessible album, so it's very fitting that it's her first one. The album does have some more daring or unusual cuts though, like "The Anchor ... read more
