Day #38 of Listening to The Highest Rated Album From Every Genre
Today's Genre: Post-Punk

Earthmover has gotta be top 10 most emotional songs of all time

2ZDinizz - PATRONO
88

Woah, I'm genuinely blown away by this album. Not only can you tell the influence from older 90s Brazilian Hip Hop, but you can also see the influence from American Pop Rap artists. These two amazing sub genres blend together to make an album that really blew me away. I'm glad to see that therer are still people, not just trying to but succeeding in carrying on Racionais MC's legacy.

Daft Punk - Discovery

Day #44 of Listening to The Highest Rated Album From Every Genre
Today's Genre: House

While repetitive, Discovery is extremely catchy, and has some of the best house production I’ve ever heard.

Borneo Bluds - ALL CAPS 2
4

bro what the fuck is happening in this song

FBC & VHOOR - BAILE
81

The entire point of this album seems to be its catchiness and ability to get your body moving. And with that it succeeds. Also wait did they sample the fucking Tetris theme?

Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters
88

man this is real, beautiful jazz. it's the type of project where you can tell it's so improvisational that if Herbie Hancock had walked into the studio any other day the album could've sounded entirely differeny. it's funky, it's jazzy, it's a masterpiece.

BTS - ARIRANG
49

peggy get your ass back to baltimore and drop another album you bum

first time listening to BTS and let's just say I as not impressed. while i liked the sampling style and skills on this album, the rest of the production was kinda mid, and absolutely clashed with the vocals. the rapping was mediocre as well. i think the worst part was the singing. i don't know why but i really just hated it the entire record. so pretty bad album here, would not reccomend.

underscores - U
85

not usually a huge fan of electropop, and despite my numerous attempts i was never really able to get into underscores. however this album, this album is spectacular. it's very energetic and the production is very unique. the concept is great to the idea of love.

Samara Cyn - Detour
81

I really loved the neo-soul and more pop focused approach here

slayr - Turn It Up
82

kinda expected a bit more but still good

Burqa Boyz - أسلحة ضخ جاف حدب [Arms Pumping Dry Humping]
85

yo this shit BANGING
goddamn

like literally this is like the most catchy instrumental album I've heard

cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD
81

wow
this album is very weird and unique
i don't think i've really heard anything like it
it's kinda like madvillainy if MF DOOM and Madlib were white and took cough syrup or some weird shit instead of weed before making the album. and like a lot more experimental.
production here is legendarely abstract. i can see how this influenced an entire sub genre of hip hop. i'd say my one pet peeve, and why i didn't rate this higher is because their voice sounds so weirdddddd. ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞ [CD Version]
88

amazing deluxe, but was the silence really necessary?

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞
88

other concept albums
Tyler, the Creator: im in love with a guy
Charles Hamilton: im in love with a girl
GYBE: THE WORLD IS FUCKING ENDING

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!
92

LYSFLAtH is very hard to describe. it feels atmospheric, the album completely invelopes your being while listening to it. it's very melancholy and forlorn as well. it feels almost genreless. however, one things for sure it is a masterpiece.

85

m.i.a. on crack (in venezuela)

Milton Nascimento - Clube da Esquina
90

this album transports you into a different universe
genuinely

Madvillain - Madvillainy
96

Day #22 of Listening to The Highest Rated Album From Every Genre
Today's Genre: Experimental Hip Hop

madvillainy is the greatest album of all time
fight me

not only did the album completely outline, and practically invent modern abstract hip hop, but MF DOOM's witty lyricism, and storytelling blend perfectly with Madlib's production, specifically his use of extremely abstract samples that really only MF DOOM could rap over so well. every single song on here is better than any ... read more

heavensouls - westside trapped
87

man heavensouls just be doing all types of wild shit

this album was not what i expected. to be fair, i didn't really know what to expect, as the only former projects i had listened to by heavensouls had been as a part of the experimental hip hop duo the sidepieces with the apparently equally versatile stickerbush. however, while the sidepiecs' 2025 album which i definetely cannot say the name of felt very raw and chaotic, while westside trapped feels beautiful, and refined. ... read more
