Okay, listening to "Holy Money" right after listening to "Greed" can be really rewarding, at least, you can comprehend Gira's and Jarboe's vision on the new musical and soundscape approach.
Instead of it's last project, in which everything was in paced as a really slow, ripetitive and monotone direction which may serve to express a deep message, but ends in a pretty boring LP, it's a message conveyed in a wrong way that distances the listener. Damn ... read more
Saved!, an album one of it’s kind.
I listened to this album a couple years ago when it came out, I actually didn’t have a strong relationship with it, I just passed through the album trying to grasp something out of it without really expecting to be such a relevant work of the rebirth of the Reverend Kristin.
In retrospective I just admired more the works from the name “LINGUA IGNOTA”, a suffering, rotting artist and person that express all the dread and pain through ... read more
You know guys, this album made me realize something after several listens maybe too many actually.
Music is just like food: good food is laborious, it takes a lot of passion and is made from years of practice, practice put to the test in order to release the best possible dish after spending years of trying failing.
Good food may not necessarily be expensive, however, it may not always be made with passion.
You see, someone doesn't always want a classy cube, you don't always want ... read more
Ok so, my boy asked me to check this project out and I gotta be honest, I went in expecting something mid, and turned out with diamond in my hands.
The soundscapes this dude can create are phenomenal, the slow crescendo of the song "life of pi" it's amazing, it gave me chills, I would really like this project out everywhere so it'll get the attention it deserves.
ANDD for like the tenth time, I'm back from literally months of not being on this site, wow.
But to focus on the album.
I can't say I'm crying because I've heard this masterpiece for a few months now, but if I heard it again I'd cry again.
I swear to you that in this time of absence I have not procrastinated (more or less), I have listened to many new albums that I have yet to review, but I definitely have to start with this one, which is probably one of my albums of ... read more
The fire dances on the raw wood, a living flame that turns matter into ash while medieval ruins glow under the twilight's gleam. The ancient stones, smoothed by time and marked by centuries of history, seem to narrate tales of days gone by, of forgotten heroes and adventures now faded into the past. The wind whispers through the cracks in the walls, carrying distant echoes of ancient battles and lost victories. It's a place steeped in charm and mystery, where every stone is a fragment of a ... read more
ALBUM SWAP WITH @sLumox :D
In the musical tapestry of 2005, Sufjan Stevens unfurls a masterpiece that transcends the boundaries of conventional artistry – "Illinois." A monumental work of epic proportions, this album is a testament to Stevens' multifaceted talents, encapsulating not only his virtuosity in multi-instrumentalism but also the boundless reservoir of creative ingenuity that defines his unique musical identity.
At its core, "Illinois" is a sonic ... read more
While the inclusion of Jarboe brings a distinct and unique flavor to Swans' "Greed," there's a subtle sense of the band retreating from the uncharted territories of originality, creating an echo of its predecessors rather than a bold divergence.
Jarboe's presence, undoubtedly a significant shift, introduces a new sonic dimension, but at times, the album appears to lean on familiar structures. The allure of the band's previous groundbreaking ventures seems to cast a shadow, resulting ... read more
Ok, This will be a tough one.
"The Origin of My Depression" transcends the realm of a conventional album; it's a hauntingly human tapestry woven with the threads of profound emotional turmoil. Before delving into my reflection, it's essential to issue a trigger warning, as the themes discussed are deeply sensitive.
From my early teenage years, a relentless thing has been my companion of life, depression, I've been dealing with it for a long time now actually, I've been diagnosed ... read more
"The Lamb as Effigy" stands as a profound testament to authenticity, where every note and lyric feels inherently genuine. It's an album that pulsates with a raw, unfiltered emotional intensity, navigating sonic landscapes that oscillate between intimate vulnerability and grandiose expansiveness.

An underrated aoty, this is truly a masterpiece from a really underrated artist/band.
An odyssey of sounds and colors that bring to life music
This record ventures boldly into experimental territory, offering a sonic landscape that immerses the listener in a captivatingly emotional journey. Each track feels like a torrent of various emotional states, akin to experiencing a myriad of distinct and intense maniac episodes. The artist fearlessly explores unconventional soundscapes, pushing boundaries, and challenging the norms of musical expression.
However, this avant-garde approach comes at a cost for the listener. The unconventional ... read more
While music has the power to provoke thought and challenge norms, it's important to draw a line between artistic expression and harmful rhetoric. In my view, 'Gravestones' crosses that line, making the album racist, homophobic, transphobic and sexist as all the Tom's discography. And as him.
Haunting, mesmerizing, and breathtaking – these are just a few words that come to mind when trying to capture the essence of Swans' album, 'To Be Kind.' In my view, it stands as one of the most extraordinary experiences within the realm of Swans' recent discography.
From the very first note, this album grabs hold of your senses and refuses to let go. It's not merely an assortment of songs; it's an odyssey through sound and emotion that demands to be heard in its entirety.

When I'm approaching to artists big as Swans, I always have a big fear of writing pure bullshit cause my ability of expressing myself is zero.
But anyways I'll try.
I've heard swans discography in chronological order and damn, even though White Light from the mouth of infinity it's for me their big start point of what make swans, swans, the great annihilator it's a masterpiece that will mark the path of a band that made history.
Anyway, the album brings a lot of themes to the table, and at ... read more
