"western union" is the only song worth listening to from this thing, and even that's kind of a stretch. i don't see the appeal of any of this album's lyrics, vocal deliveries, or instrumentals, since they're all so bland, trying to be something new but just can't be something good.
grace lightan's debut album is a wonderful adventure that turns art pop inside-out through its gripping production and interesting lyrics.

every single song on here is atmospheric and angelic, but also exceptionally boring.

other than "gretel," it's not really that interesting, even though it's lush throughout.

although some of the best songs of gaga's career are on this album ("judas," "bloody mary"), born this way is just a huge mess with cluttered production, no cohesion, and lots of filler.

pushing her style through a singular electropop tunnel, lady gaga almost perfects the genre with unique tracks and hooks, but the inclusion of "speechless" and "teeth" really seems forced.

this album is grand, but its fusion of synthpop and indie rock feels forced.

although titanic rising falls apart in its second half, it manages to stay consistently lush, warm, and a gateway to much older baroque pop.

schlagenheim is so weird, whether that's because of the wacky instrumentation, the strange vocals, or the seamless combination of the two.
if you told me that this album came out in the 1980s, i'd have easily believed you.

most of this album's songs sound same-y, and after the first two its appeal kind of wears out.
