I feel like phoebe bridgers has so much talent and creativity and she mostly uses it to make super heavily multi-tracked vocals singing simple meandering melodies over simple little beats. She could be the second coming of shakespeare lyrically but if the music isnt interesting it isnt interesting. fun lil indie album. Doesn't do all that much but does a hell of a lot more right than wrong

I implore you, listen to this, find the video of the last 40 minutes, and read up on the story of this performance and Fishmans as a whole. What a wonderful rabbit hole to go down. I could never do it justice with a little written review but I promise there is so much to fall in love with here.

Every time I listen to this I love it more and more. This is what every Indie band since The Strokes has been trying to become and Alvvays perfects it effortlessly. Molly Rankin might already be my favorite female singer ever and I only got into the band like two months ago.
They aren't revolutionizing music or making you cry so hard you change your entire lifestyle or anything, it's just damn good, well-made music. This album fucks.

There are some pretty good songs but so much of it ranges from uninteresting to straight up irritating. I expected to really like this based on what I've heard about it but god damn.
