this album, much like many of Aphex Twin's albums, is really all over the place, sound-wise. which i can totally see being a little off-putting to someone not used to the abrasive sounds and skittery drum beats overlapped and pushed next to the lush and calming synths and low bass tones. but for me, i really appreciate how diverse the moods and sounds are on this album. ventolin haters go to hell, little tiny crybabies. waaaah the high pitched sound hurts my ears waaaaaaaah waaaaaah
when he isnt ripping some other artist off, it sounds bad. and when he is ripping some other artist off, it still sounds bad!
everything here sounds great because everything here sounds the same. despite her singing being very very good and her production being super tight and lush, this album is just the same few ideas put together and repeated. if lyn can step outside of her comfortable boundaries and try experimenting a little, i will probably really love the next album.
i dont know how to phrase this without sounding like a little punk loser but here goes: if youre gonna make a wu tang album, please keep the singing and melodic shit to a minimum. the parts of this album that just let wu be wu and rap over great beats and old movie samples are so good. the wu has always thrived when you just let these 15 grimy voiced dudes rap and cut out any of that filler bs. i really do like a majority of this album, but it really would benefit with another round in the ... read more
