Going into the album, I wasn't all that excited. I just knew this album was going to be a mess, I had absolute confidence, 100% sure this album was gonna be a big fat bloated messy messiness.
but i didn't get that. I got myself a TIDY AND COHESIVE ALBUM EXPERIENCE?!?! NOONONO THAT WASN'T WHAT WAS PROMISED!!?!?

Against all odds The 1975 deliver a really engaging and smooth album experience, admittedly a touch bloated, but that was masked but the great vibe and tone throughout the album.

Not much intrigue here. Nothing here particularly innovative or emotive in any way.
There was a slight sadness beneath the bright sounding tunes, a sense of longing for happiness/love ahead but it didn't hit hard enough. The songs themselves were not that interesting, lack of progression/mood/emotion/experimentation with sounds/interesting lyrics or themes.
Last track was very good however, clear standout of the album, it ends the album with a serene and blissful ending which answers the ... read more

A somewhat cinematic yet small scale, intimate and personal album from Mike Hadreas.
Perfume Genius has come up with one of the most emotionally raw albums of the year here.

This album is incredibly immersive with well thought out production. PG keeps this album interesting with innovative and enchanting sounds. The music feels very delicate, not going above a certain level most of the time. Same too with his vocals. I'm under the impression that he really wants to let his emotions run wild, ... read more

An album bursting with potential, but marred by sporadic mediocrity.
Album opener 'Come Rain' is honestly one of the most glorious openers of the year. What a majestic song! This had me incredible excited for the rest of the album, but unfortunately, the rest of the album did not live up. What I got was a few fairly generic sounding indie songs, that tonally were fine, they had a good enough tone to work with but needed some strong instrumentation so really elevate the songs, but we got some ... read more

Hey! I have been releasing singles for a little while now and I feel like I have improved a ton, especially on my most recent single called 100% Wet. I took a lot of your advice from my first single and I know much more music theory. Also, the panning won't be an issue on any of my new tracks haha. I also use a legitimate music production software and actual samples now and I have a computer to do it on, so hopefully that shows!.
Anyways, I'd love it if you could check it out and drop some criticisms!. Thanks!
