Def not a ten, but pretty solid project. I havent heard any of CharlI xcx’s other albums as of writing this, and in general this is not really my style of music. But this is really fun music.
This album…THIS ALBUM. Every song on it is amazing (besides Wild Honey Pie) like this album is SO GOOD. Why don’t people talk about this more often? Like people are so quick to bring up Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt Peppers, but none of them even come CLOSE to this album. Truly peak
I prefer the original to this one bc it just butchers so many songs. Like Nervous Young Inhumans (removes the monologue and in loo of it puts a bad monologue) like the whole “need to know basis” thing. Okay, very nit-picky things ik, but u just feel like it has less soul than the original. Also a lot of the production is kinda…worse. Sober to Death sounds more spacey, i think this version of sober to death is overall better. But like idk. I will prolly change my review, maybe ... read more
Half of this album is smooth soul, the other half is funk, but all of the songs are a little mixture of both. Anywhose, this is a pretty good album.
This album is a very mediocre project.
First - addressing the elephant in the room - this kid is white asl and saying the n-word (hard r on some tracks too I might add) which…is just kinda gross to me.
Anyways to get to the actual quality of the music…yeah it’s not good. On tracks like “WTF a 27” and “Shot Calla” it sounds like he’s actively fighting the beat, and on the overall project his flow is so bad it def tells you he isn’t abt ... read more
About a week ago now I listened to Exmilitary, I really liked loved it but thought it has quite a few flaws. A few days ago I put on this…this album is really amazing - nearly perfect.
The production is magnificent, everything about this record is so good.
This is currently the most enjoyable for me out of the Beatle’s records. All the tracks are acoustic, or I mean not actually - Drive My Car is pretty electric - but they all feel pretty warm. The biggest thing to me here is the heightened quality from their last record, as they went from writing simple love songs to…Rubber Soul and beyond. Rubber Soul is still somewhat simple in terms of it doesn’t really touch on actual issues like some of their later stuff would.
Anyways, ... read more
Not a single bad track, and several PERFECT tracks. Remarkable how consistent it is.
Honestly I know this album is supposed to be really good…but I only partly see the vision.
Don’t care much for Battle of Evermore, but thats the only miss this album has imo.
