Good morning and I have now continued the elseq series so now we are on elseq 4 and holy shit this is the best one. It’s easily the most consistent of the albums I’ve heard in the series so far, I doubt elseq 5 will be as good or consistent as this because man this has some of their best material on here. I was really impressed with what this album did. I mean I think it’s more accessible than the others but it’s still really quality IDM as you’d expect from these ... read more
AUTECHRE DEEP DIVE #15
Okay, we are more than back on track with this one. elseq 4 is handily the most accessible installation of this series so far, but it doesn’t really sacrifice any of its nuanced complexity to earn that title.

This is probably my favourite part so far, it takes it up a few notches to give a bit of groove and power to the overall mix to lead to the most cohesive section to this project.
Standout: foldfree casual
Favs: 7th slip, latentcall
Least fav: artov chain
Revisiting elseq, part 4:
Tied with 1 as the best elseq for me. The synths on this one are extra fluttery and epic, with latentcall and 7th slip being quite sonically pleasing. I do not remember 7th slip being that good, so that was a nice surprise.
Stepping into the elseq territory. The wheel picked this and it's good. I don't typically do well with very long songs but they're good, unfortunately the proclaimed best track (by the AOTY tracklist) isn't the best, starts off absolutely strong but doesn't go anywhere, just leaves my mind and that's unfortunate... Still good though.
Tracks here range from fine to awesome.
