With Down IV Part 1 and this one they seem to be leaning hard into the spoopy Sabbath side of the sound but in the process, like I felt on Down II, they sacrifice a lot of the grooviness that make Down I and III so fun to listen to. It's still a solid album (come on, it's not 2 EPs, it's one long album like their others), just not as good as it could be for me.
