The reviews on this album seriously leave me wondering if anybody here actually listened to it in its entirety without a bias. This album is groovy, funky, goodness. Every song on here (excluding Heartbreaker and 2000 Watts) is above a 7. Why do yall hate this? I don't get it. This album isn't perfect, but its really really good. I guarantee if Sony didn't do such a bad job putting this album out, it would have amazing reviews.
This is a masterpiece. An essential. A classic. Treat it as so.
After an absolutely legendary career and a huge amount of classic albums, Michael Jackson dropped Invincible in 2001. It might not get the same universal love as Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, HIStory, or Dangerous, but to be honest, I think it’s a stunning album in its own right. It’s not trying to rewrite history, but it quietly reminds you why MJ was a genius.
With Invincible, Michael leaned more into R&B, and of course, he does it like only he can, with that perfect mix of ... read more
'Invincible' was a more definitive attempt at a comeback but is hampered by repetitiveness and that rampaging paranoia ('Privacy') - quite simply, there's not an essential Jackson song on yet another 1h 16m set.
An endurance test.
Michael Jackson Deep Dive #10
What the hell was this? This was the first Michael Jackson Record I REALLY didn’t enjoy since Music & Me. It’s pretty sad this was the last record he made while living. It’s really not that good.
Fav tracks: unbreakable, you rock my world
least fav tracks: 2000 watts, Heaven can wait, you are my life, threatened, privacy
On ‘Invincible’, Michael is stripped from all the qualities that makes us love him. This seems too calculated and lifeless. He sounds like those late-90s boybands that he inspired. Only 3 tracks stand out and not that much to be honest. Disappointing.
this is so overhated. although some songs here do fall short of what we come to expect from michael, most of the songs here hold up quite well and some are even close to being his best work.
favourite track: unbreakable

More people need to listen to this album. This album seriously has some of MJ's greatest material, however, there are a few corny ballads keeping it from being in the 90 range.
Project #0260
Artist: Michael Jackson
Project: Invincible
This album is overhated. It’s long, yes, and it definitely could’ve been trimmed, but there’s a lot of quality here that people overlook. The production is glossy and very early 2000s, but it works more often than it doesn’t. It sounds expensive, layered, and polished.
Vocally, he’s still locked in. The melodies are strong, the harmonies are stacked beautifully, and when he leans into the emotional ... read more
One of the biggest issues I have with post-Quincy MJ is his lack of ability to cut out filler. If it was just tracks 1-7 + 15 this album would like a decent 5 but instead, you get left with a near half an hour run from 2000 watts to the lost children of dull and sometimes annoying filler.
Edit: I have just been reminded this is still the most expensive album of all time. Seriously, how do you even spend 30 mil (50+ mil with inflation) making this 😭. Did they make this album out of saffron ... read more
i kinda struggled with what to say for this one. while this is the first michael jackson album i've listened to in full, i've heard a lot of his music growing up since my dad is a big fan of his. in general, i thought the first half of the album was pretty good, especially heaven can wait and you rock my world. i thought unbreakable was maybe a little too long. the second half was kinda mid though. speechless was just ok, and i feel like there was something wrong with it but i ... read more
MJ's "Invincible" isn't as bad as everyone consistently portrays it, but it's pretty mediocre. It actually starts off with some really great tracks though, such as "Unbreakable", "Invincible" or "Break Of Dawn". The first 7 tracks are legitimately mostly really good, but the second half of the project kinda blows. I only like "Cry" and "Threatened" from the second half, everything else in there just seemed kinda pointless and doesn't ... read more
This is beyond mediocre, it doesnt obtain the Michael Jackson charm that youd want, nor does it have any hits or bangers. Truly a dissapointing album
A 30 million dollar mess, or laundering scheme? Who knows.
Yeah like even still considering the fact that two versions of this album were made and the excessive amount of producers on this, it doesn't make sense on how this much money was wasted on making this. The production is very messy, with some tracks sounding somewhat adjacent of the Quincy Jones MJ we love while others sound more like the typical drum machine infused RNB and Hip-Hop of the time. And then you have '2000 Watts' and ... read more
“Don’t you ever make no mistakes, baby, I’ve got what it takes / And there’s no way you’ll ever get me”
the king of pop goes electronic on “Invincible”. the results make for a very triumphant return to form over his previous full body of work, however; it is very clear that the star that shined so brightly back in the late 70’s and 80’s has slightly dimmed it’s light after so long.
BEST: “Butterflies” | “You ... read more
Severely underrated. The entire first half is one of the most insane track runs I've ever heard.
What can I say? This is truly a masterpiece and everyone, who rates this below 80-85 doesn't have ears. (Critics are just stupid)
Despite not being his strongest effort, it's crazy that on every album he has several recognizable hits, but yea it's way too long and no, I'm not listening to the posthumous albums, i really don't want to or care
Like all of his albums, Invincible is WAY ahead of its time...however embroiled in controversy he was at the time.
It really sucks how dunked this album got because of the allegations, because the music itself is incredible for 2001. There was nothing like it at the time, and though there's a fair share of skippable tracks near the end, the majority of the record is pretty impressive and enjoyable. I grew up on Michael's discography, and I remember gravitating toward this one more ... read more
We have R Kelly at home.
This album is actually not horrible. It it WAY TOO LONG for a Michael Jackson album, but songs like Cry, Unbreakable, and Heaven Can Wait have great production and instrumentals that channel many of the R Kelly and Aaliyah tracks of the time. There are a few songs I don’t exactly enjoy, but it’s overall an ok listen. Heaven Can Wait really is a banger lol.
