Young Thug and Gojira on the same album...

I don't want to talk about this album, it's too bad. "MCID" is the definition of a misstep, this thing goes from a Young Thug verse straight into a pulverizing Gojira breakdown. But no, I wouldn't talk about this album. I'll let the awful lyrics talk about themselves, here are some highlights:

"Sometimes, I need to bust a nut
That doesn't mean I don't love you
So what?
You're saying that you wish that I was playing with your butt" ... read more

It’s appalling how bad this is! Easily one of the worst records I have heard all year and I absolutely loved their first two albums!

This record has no soul at all and is just nothing but bullshit wannabe radio rock that is trying to cater to a faux edgy audience of 14 year olds with emotional disorders. This is everything that is wrong with the scene and popular rock music alike at the moment. Its just downright cringe! Like I refuse to even fucking listen to rock radio anymore because ... read more

Jesus christ this thing is a total mess. This feels like its the product of identity crisis and yes-men. Also this is probably the most random feature list ever. What the hell is gojira doing on this album? And tee grizzley being here allows the n word to be said in this not at all fitting album for that to be the case. At least that song is about systemic injustice so it kind of bridges the gap to rap better than it might otherwise, but its still one of the most baffling songs on the album ... read more

Album Review #49

This band was recommended to me by a friend on Facebook. I'm now listening to their third album.

Okey, so maybe I've heard of this band before after all; the one song I've actually heard before on the radio, "16", is on this album. MCID is more hip-hop oriented than their previous albums, which I'm not sure I'm a fan of; hip-hop isn't exactly one of my favorite genres of music. I like that they were trying to give the album some variety ... read more
