All this means, on at least a superficial level, is that it's the group's most varied album yet, but the emergence of Timberlake and Chasez as credible soulful singers and, yes, songwriters makes it their best album yet, and one of the best of the teen pop boom of 1999-2001.

‘Celebrity’ is pretty damn fine too ... The bad news is that ‘Celebrity’ definitely shows signs of that discontent that all boyband members begin to feel after a while, and it’s this which might well put some fans off.

”Celebrity” may be the consummate teen-pop experience: It has the R&B swipes, the ballads, the grasps at artistic self-expression, and the requisite Europop. On it, ‘N Sync are both puppets and puppet masters. Even if it all crumbles, they’ll go down swinging.

Celebrity goes several steps further outside the proven boy-band sphere.

Chock-full of ire-filled pop ditties glazed with a tarty blend of pop/R&B and a dash of electronica, NSYNC’s generally gratifying third album, Celebrity, is both slightly overcooked and a tad overzealous.

The production here is the best that they have ever had. There are so many interesting layers in each song and the sound of this album is even better than their previous projects.

This almost has the same amount of production value as Justin's solo albums. The vocals here are incredible, the songs are catchy and memorable, the pacing is consistent while still having variety, and the songs flow together excellently.

I absolutely adore all of the production on this album, it sounds so good and ... read more

There is a slight downgrade from ‘No Strings Attached’ here. It’s mostly mid. Not even the singles pull me in, only the ballads.

Celebrity is more quirky production wise than No Strings Attached, so their personalities definitely come through more. However, the songs aren't as catchy so overall the record isn't as good as their previous. They still deliver great songs though especially the ballads. Pop also remains their best track in my opinion.

Highlights: Pop, Celebrity and Girlfriend.

A solid, ambitious, and surprisingly modern album for a boy band at the height of their fame. It's not perfect, but it's easily one of the most underrated pop projects of the 2000s.
