I really like the Industrial production with bigger emphasis on a guitar, whichs heavy riffs are great here. The problem with this record is however that it's pretty samey and when it tries to change it's style like on ,,Stuck In Here" it feels rather undercooked.

The alternative metal sound of this record mixed with industrial production tropes makes this album definitely a product of its time for better or for worse. With a small handful of highlights and a consistent tone throughout, I found this to be an alright album that holds up decently, even if they live in the shadow of the industrial material Reznor and Manson would put out in a similar time frame.
With a deep and immense mental pain I announce that Hey Man, Nice Shot is the only great song here. Everything else sounds forced, simple or unfinished.
This debut album is really really good! Released on April 25th 1995, Filter is the duo of Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang who both worked with Nine Inch Nails before forming this band in 1993. For a debut album, both of the members pack in their own unique qualities as Richard does the vocals, guitars, and the bass playing, while Brian also does guitar work and the drum programming. While not overly repetetive it's not interesting enough to keep your attention all the way through. A ton of raw energy in this one. The second half is much much worse.
