What a beautiful, lush soundtrack without a film. I'd watch Matthew McConaughey as a depressed gardener on a space station in a moody, atmospheric mumblecore drama with very little dialogue to this album. Get it made, hollywood big wigs.

I was skeptical of listening at first due to the length of the first track as well as the general feedback. I am glad I gave this a listen. This album sounds like a culmination of all of Four Tet's sounds but they balance each other out perfectly. Parallel 1 is a long track, but it felt like a personal journey through Four Tet's unique sounds. The quality mix of ambient and upbeat tech house music really returns Four Tet to form in my opinion. Four Tet's Christmas gift Parallel it's his most ambitious work yet. It is the most Autechre, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin that the man of so many pseudonyms has sounded, creating ten magnificents and extenses pieces that honor him to call him one of ''the greatest'' electronic producers of this caotic and unpredictable epoch, like his music.

Not forward-thinking, but still pleasant. This is music to drink coffee and play minecraft to.
