Voyager serves as a logical entry point for the uninitiated with its refreshed sound, and, although some longtime fans may miss the raw, immediate quality of his homemade releases, the arrangements here only intensify Rattigan's emotive writing and performances.

The album may have been better served if it was trimmed down by a few tracks, but overall Current Joys are definitely worthy of being added to your go-to rotation.

Song titles suggest a plaid-shirted classicism that Nevada's Nick Rattigan more than makes good on with aerated guitars, melodies, orchestral crescendos and heartsore vocals. Satisfyingly brash.

This was my most anticipated album of 2021. The singles were great, and I love all of Nick Rattigans work. And my god, I couldn't be more happy to say that I love this album. I cried when I heard some of these songs for the first time. This album is absolutely beautiful, and for his first time working with a full band in an actual studio, he did a great job. Yeah man this is awesome. Maybe because I'm such a Current Joys fan but this is a lovely album. The lyrics on this are some of the best of Nick Rattigan's career and the first thing that stood out to me on this record. absolutely gorgeous album full of emotions and raw unfiltered passion. current joys songwriting at it's finest. every inch of this album is perfect eargasms all over 🤤. very much reccomend this album front to back is an amazing experience.
