Spectrum Culture
It leaves no room for debate that Mark is an exceptional vocalist, handling every song on the album by herself, while also writing and producing.
81
Beats Per Minute
The R&B/Soul/Bossa Nova-meshing artist hailing from Tennessee wields a gift to magnify both her and our worries, anxieties, shortcomings and dejected doubts of lost love; her pen excels in etching out the intricate wonders of the emotional spectrum in a way that shows an advanced progression of both musical and emotional maturation.

Three Dimensions Deep is a winner, as diverse production allows for a collection of tunes that are never boring.

Paste

The record boasts club-ready bops and chill bangers that can please almost any aural palate. When you dig beneath the surface, though, Mark imparts universal wisdom and gives listeners a much-needed moment to appreciate ourselves.

DIY

Amber has created a soundtrack, as slick as velvet from start to finish, but without allowing for anything to stand out.

Loud and Quiet

Her long-awaited debut, Three Dimensions Deep, hits the beats you could expect. It often does so joyfully, and with a specificity of personal perspective that elevates its material.

60
Rolling Stone

New York R&B artist’s full-length debut has a fun sense of exploration and play but gets tripped up by its cosmic pretensions.

Three Dimensions Deep is a poignantly instrospective journey through all the contemporary R&B trends with impressive ease.

Today, if we look at the pedestal of the female R&B movement (Alternative R&B / Comtemporary R&B / Neo-Soul) of the last 5 years, we are lucky to have a handful of talented artists: SZA, Solange, Lianne La Havas, Kali Uchis, Rina Sawayama, Remi Wolf, Erika De Casier or even L'Rain. I think the idea of adding Amber Mark to this list could be more than ... read more

Even though Three Dimensions Deep isn’t necessarily anything super original or unique, Amber Mark still comes through with an impressive and enjoyable R&B album with some great production and solid songwriting.

I first heard of Amber Mark in 2019 when I saw her at a festival and was really impressed by her performance. Then, last year I heard her singles “Foreign Things” and “What It Is”, which were two of my favorite singles of 2021. I wasn’t crazy ... read more

NR

Three Dimensions Deep sinks you into the world of Amber Mark’s heart and soul through a transcendent rnb approach.

Amber Mark is a pure visionary when it comes to the sound of Neo-Soul. Mark was given her first guitar from her mother, and she ended up becoming self-taught. After losing her mother in 2013, Mark took it upon herself to start a career in music. Amber made a name for herself, and continued to release 2 EP’s in 2017 and 2018. Over the past three years, Mark has been ... read more

LIGHT 7.

A collectively smooth crop of R&B tracks that presents a dichotomy of intrigue and blandness.

I was thoroughly enjoying this. But it eventually felt like a really long listen. The songwriting quality is pretty consistent, even if it's not "deep" or whatever. But the production technique just sounds so fat and saturated.
I can see this gaining critical acclaim over the year. I myself might just stick with the singles. And that's ok.

A decent RnB release. Amber Mark's debut album is a solid one. An extensive tracklist which is rather consistent, however lacks in highlights. A formulaic RnB release befitting of a ''first-album'', showcasing a glaring potential for Amber Mark to become one of the main figures of contemporary RnB, excited to see how she progresses on her next projects.
