With huge hooks, wildly uplifting highs, and intensely punitive lows, Drift is the third studio album everyone wanted ERRA to make
My favorite ERRA album that I've heard so far! An absolute beauty of an album
The Swancore elements incorporated into their classic Prog Metalcore/Djent sound here are an AWESOME touch. The guitar-work is beautiful, nostalgic and eargasmic, while the vocal-work is emotionally potent and memorable. The Progressive structures make the songs more interesting, and unpredictable in a very good way. This is how you do progressive Metal. You still have memorable parts, and at times, even hooks, ... read more
The definitely hit their stride here, "Luminesce" fades in hyper smooth, love the leadwork here, it's not super crazy but a starter and table setter. Decent chunky little groove as it develops, a little beefier later on with an increase in ambiance as well. Lovely start.
"Irreversible" builds a little slower as well before dropping a more assertive groove, a little more aggressive. It mellows nicely, softer melody. I like the leadwork in the second half, nothing crazy ... read more
Probably my favorite Erra album thus far. They utilize both incredible clean vocals and great harsh vocals and really showcase a more musical side instead of just technical prowess.
Surprisingly great album from ERRA. I had no idea they had this in them. I'd only ever heard their post-2020 works, which are pretty good, but nothing this crazy. This album is so much more ambitious and progressive. After only having heard the first three tracks, I wrote down: "These instrumentals are fucking insane". this one doesn’t do anything for me, not the way ERRA’s future works do. very few things stand out as particularly good or even decent, but also nothing’s egregiously bad. i guess it’s a perfect 6/10 record in that regard
The best ERRA album (though silence outlives the earth might overtake it, I can’t stop listening to that record) and one of the best prog metalcore/djent whatever the fuck you wanna call it albums. They were cooking on here and JT was a fantastic addition to the band
