Holy Diver and The Last in Line are Dio's most essential solo records however Dream Evil still is an absolute classic album in my book.
Astonishingly, Dream Evil ... alters the formula.
Often overlooked, Dream Evil is an album that continues many of Dio's strengths as an artist. His voice is still incredible for this kind of music. The riffs are still energetic. The music is still a lot of fun - it even sees him returning to ballads with All the Fools Sailed Away, one of his stronger tracks. It is gradually getting more and more difficult for me to write reviews for music that isn't either: exceptionally great or exceptionally bad. The creative downfall ain't pretty, I'll tell you that much.

this reminds me of the band europe specifically the finale countdown or some good old journey
i’ve been anticipating this for a minutes mostly cause of the genres. he has quite the strong voice however there’s not much about this album that really stands out. surely the songs are good matter of fact a few bangers but it felt like the same song over and over again at some point. the way he says “night people” and “dream evil” in both songs is quite ... read more
