Phenomenal debut. Their sound is already very well developed, every song is so aggressive and elegant. Technically proficient and the production is impeccable, shame the best songs on the album are the first ones cause it slowly loses impact but that's a minor complaint

It's not nearly as ambitious as the band would get with releases such as Mental Vortex or Grin, but R.I.P. is still a really solid debut. For an 80's thrash metal record, Coroner had their own sound clearly cut out of a scene populated by tons of Slayer and Exodus clones.
Really great debut tech thrash release! This record is dense, and if this were the only one they'd ever made, I think Coroner would still be legendary. The fact they improved and succeeded this record in the years to come is wild. Love it.

The intro already stands out; I don't think any other thrash band in the 80s would've had the guts to begin their record with a piano segment, and I love that decision.
