They continued growing up here after Dead Throne, not their best or my favorite but still pleasant.
"Gloom" gets it started with a little droning fade in and some electronic effects before thundering away, good heavy riff, almost sludge adjacent. Punchy drums and ambiance as it develops. This album has completely blown me away. The best songs I personally think are Rumors, First Sight, Sailors Prayer, Martyrs, Black & Blue, Transgress and Home For Grave. The Ending section of songs like from tracks 8-11 are the best. Its just being hit by so many good songs so quick. Insanely well built and sounding riffs and breakdowns. What an amazing and consistent album. I love the sound, I love the experimentalism and I love the message in the lyrics, just great.
I had originally reviewed this album quite low as everyone i was seeing had hyped it up to be this big impressive thing, but it just didn't live up to that expectation. Perhaps that was my fault for taking in other peoples opinions however, as after forming my own opinion i do think that this album, while decent isn't the last impressive thing they've put out.
