despite being pretty popular in the emo scene, microwave are rarely discussed in the music community. and that’s upsetting considering how incredible Much Love is. the lyrics manage to capture many different emotions without even being too “deep”. the vocals work perfectly with the lyrics and add to the emotionality of the album. the instrumental is a lovely mix of the twinkly riffs of midwest emo and the aggressive yet catchy rhythms of pop punk.
Sometimes we forget the aspects of midwestern emo that take from the country side of guitar music are also informed by the south like Atlanta Georgia. The songs have a lot of charm and humility to them. They tell stories that are relatable and accompanied by an indie-rock infused post-hardcore sound that is addicting. There have been moments where acts like The Early November, Cursive, and Manchester Orchestra have delved into, but microwave finds magic on Much Love.

Downright addictive record. Hits many emotions. Guitar parts, harmonies, and screams work together brilliantly. Special mention to the crunchy drums on "Wrong" and "Vomit."
