Uncut
Iconoclastic and visceral, Squarepusher is punk rock 2002.

AllMusic
Though the focus on range and experimentation is fascinating for those who've already heard Squarepusher doing the standard drill'n'bass rigamarole, the randomness evident on productions like "Kill Robok" makes the LP about as infectious as a surgical bandage.

Rather good fun.

The first disc wisely opens with the album's only worthwhile moment: the title track, which has already become a concert fave for fans.

Obviously not counting the big 'Phex, this album here was my formal introduction to IDM and Drill and Bass, as well as the larger sound of this Warp era so many years ago. I mean, its the album with his name on it! I come here to tell you it most definitely isn't as bad of an album as some people make it out to be, although I can for sure see where they're coming from, seeing as this is a pretty clunky album compared to those that came before, and it isn't as grand in nature ... read more

Man it hurts giving a squarepusher project this low of a score, huge fan of the guy’s work but this just wasn’t it, a few good songs and a 10 minute track that’s a nothing burger, this isn’t worth your time go listen to a different squarepusher project.
My favorite tracks: Title track, Annstrom-Feck 4
My least favorite track: Mutilation Colony (this is what I’m referring to when I mean the 10 minute nothing burger….)

Missed this one before I moved onto Square Window, this feels like Budakhan Mindphone but building off of the more experimental moments on Go Plastic. In general I do probably like this release more than most of the other EPs, but the live portion on the second disc is supremely underwhelming. I feel like had it been recorded from a soundboard rather than from the audience it would've been a much better listening experience - in the same way that Pinocchio Story would go on to feel six years ... read more

I wonder if they know who Squarepusher is. This album exists, not entirely bad but feels kinda redundant. The title track is a strong start but the 10 minute Mutilation Colony doesn't make sense in this album.

Tracks here range from average to perfect, mainly on the fine territory.
Biggest highlight: "Do You Know Squarepusher"
