Although some of that magic still pokes its head through here and there, it’s largely obscured by Vertigo's overarching lethargy.

The beauty and serenity of Vertigo will have you strung along rather than surprised.
Filled with incredible production and excellent alt-pop songwriting, "vertigo" is a fantastically-crafted, frequently beautiful and severely underrated record. It's surprisingly experimental compared to EDEN's previous works, and the vocal performances are even stronger here. Certainly not for everyone, but I will defend this album with my life. Absolutely love it. Plus it manages to somehow be even better live.

Genuinely one of the most beautiful experiences of an album I've ever had.

Yes, I believe this is better than both ITYTTMOM and No Future. There's something more to the slightly more stripped back approach, yet simultaneously harder hitting song structures that makes this album feel a lot more intimate than past releases and future endeavours. I remember when this came out. I loved it so much, the whole album was on repeat for a few months. Revisiting now still makes me love it. Sure, you can tell this was Jon's first big album, sometimes it kinda slips, there are some unnecessary things that could've been easily cut out, but the fact he worked on this alone is NUTS. It's an emotional ride, very underrated.
I love this album. The production on these tracks wows me every time I hear it. Especially on tracks like icarus, float, and start//end; it's just so freaking cool. I vibe with the moodiness so hard. It's one of my go to albums to dissociate to. The only major issue I have with it is that the middle section lulls a bit. All of the tracks at that point are samey acoustic cuts. None of the tracks are unenjoyable, just having them all in a row is a bit much. One or two of them could have been cut. ... read more
