Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele

After achieving inconceivable success alongside his fellow Wu-Tang Clan associates throughout the 90's, Ghost's solo career got off to a triumphant start with the release of 1996's 'Ironman'. One of many garish solo records which built on the rawness of the genre-defining '36 Chambers', it wouldn't be until the release of 'Supreme Clientele' 4 years later where Ghost would truly find his unique identity as a solo artist.

Melody's Echo Chamber - Melody's Echo Chamber

Melody’s Echo Chamber is the solo project of French musician, Melody Prochet. Having indulged in classical music from a tender age, Prochet would eventually begin to explore psychedelic rock as part of her previous band, My Bee’s Garden. Incidentally, the group would go on to support the increasingly popular Tame Impala, prompting the development of both a musical and intimate relationship between Prochet and Kevin Parker. Following the pair’s successful sessions at ... read more

Charli xcx - True Romance

Funnily enough, a recent interview with Zane Lowe saw Charli allude to similar struggles while recording 2022's 'CRASH', on which she ... read more

Quick disclaimer before I get into the review - this is my first introduction to metalcore, so apologies if it reads as naïve or uneducated.

Widely considered one of the pioneers of the metalcore genre, Converge appear to have built both an impressive and longstanding discography. What I found interesting about the Massachusetts outfit is how highly regarded their latest work is considered by fans and critics alike, something I feel is rare for a band well into their third decade. ... read more

Coldplay - Moon Music

I imagine my feeling towards Coldplay are shared by many others. I frequently found myself getting lost in their first 4 albums, in particular 'Parachutes'. Don't get me wrong, I don't consider Chris Martin to be a great singer, nor in fact do I consider him to be the most calculated songwriter. But what those earlier Coldplay albums possessed was a gripping sense of melancholia, which felt REAL. At their best they were both powerful and enticing.

My enjoyment weaned as ... read more
