I love Young Nudy. He is the perfect embodiment of quality trap rap. Nobody is as consistent as him. This is his most diverse, mature, polished piece of work. Anyways balance Nudy dark street aesthetic and his introspective personal story side. The instrumentals are glossy and bass heavy. Every beat is unique in their own way. And the way how Nudy flows on a track is beautiful. When somebody asks what project should they start with when trying to get into Nudy I would try to suggest this one. ... read more
I love Westside Gunn. He’s energetic, creative, and grimey. I’m missing the griminess on this project. Sure, I get he wants to switch it up but, I am not looking to hear just instrumentation on a Westside album. I want the slick raps as well. Felt like Westside took a backseat on this project by letting features run the show. And I’m not really into that. Half of the songs are bland and I’ll say 25% of the album is actually not forgettable. This doesn’t touch his ... read more
Well it’s bland. Mediocre. Uninspired. And Generic as hell. But at least it’s better than his last project Drip or Drown 2. So there is some progress being shown. There’s a lot to like and a lot to dislike about this project. Half of the songs sound the same which is very irritating. But when you listen to the album you pick up on some decent songs.
Favorite Tracks: Gimmick, WUNNA, Nasty Girl/OnCamera
Least Favorite Track: Do Better
It’s decent. Doesn’t compare to Drunk in quality. But still a decent project. The mix of humor and seriousness helps makes this project more unique.
Favorite Tracks: Dragonball Durag, Fair Chance, Existential Dread
Least Favorite Tracks: Miguel’s Happy Dance
This is garbage. Is there anything else to say? I actually liked Blueface before, his off beat rapping really made him stand out and he actually got bars when he tries. Now that he has exposure and fame he doesn’t care and listening to this project you can definitely tell as well. Features carried this abomination that we will call a project. DaBaby, Polo G and NLE Choppa get a pass for single handedly saving songs. Anyways, stay away from this awful album. Just continue to have fun with ... read more
Soulful. Emotional. Very well produced. Gambino’s best work and best performance in his musical career. Even till this day the album is on repeat. Funkadelic extravaganza!
Favorite Tracks: Me and Your Mama, Boogieman, Zombies, Baby Boy, Terrified
Least Favorite Track: California
This is a decent debut for such a promising rising star. Can’t wait to see how Don Toliver expands his sound. This project isn’t perfect but it is a step in the right direction.
Favorite Tracks: Heaven or Hell, Cardigan, After Party, Wasted, Can’t Feel My Legs, No Idea
Least Favorite Track: Candy
Wasn’t moved by this project. Felt like a mixed bag of ideas not being fully realized. This doesn’t have an consistent sound and that can be cool sometimes. But throughout this album the different styles started to become unlistenable or just flat out bland.
Favorite Tracks: Algorythm, 12.38, 19.10, 24.19
Least Favorite Track: 35.31
Prime Drake. Classic record. Mixture of HipHop and R&B is almost perfect. It’s not perfect but it is a very enjoyable album. The first half is way better than the second half. What is there else to say, it’s really good.
Favorite Tracks: Tuscan Leather, Furthest Thing, Wu Tang Forever, From Time, Pound Cake
Least Favorite: 305 To My City
Um it’s ok I guess. Another project where Drake feels comfortable with being mediocre. Drake is at a stand still right now in his career and has no intentions on progressing musically nor artistically.
Favorite Tracks: Chicago Freestyle, Landed, Desires, Demons
Least Favorite Tracks: Tootsie Slide, Not You Too, War
Love him or hate him. Future has one of the most underrated and consistent discography in modern hip hop. And with this project, it adds to Future’s positive resume. High Off Life has a perfect mixture of old Future and new Future. The album gives something that everybody enjoys. There are a sort of unique variety of tracks spread out on this album. And I must say Future does know how to use his features perfectly. Limited but effective. Travis, Uzi, hell even NBA Youngboy are all ... read more
I remember hating this album at first. I wasn’t a big Uzi fan to begin with but, still gave it a chance. Even his fans weren’t messing with the album when it first dropped. Now after almost 3 years of Luv is Rage 2 being out, I’ll say it grew on me. Some of the songs just hit out of nowhere for me. I feel like the album was sort of ahead of its time. Uzi tried to do something different and bringing different vibes into one project. And I felt like his diehard fans and ... read more
Some highlights. A lot of duds. This will be Nav’s peak. So, that’s a plus I guess.
