Every Kendrick Lamar track is somehow derived from the formula found here on this thee Section.80
Its exactly what we expected from dvsn, but delivered unexpectedly well.
Favourite track: Mood (R&B SOTY contender baybee)
Least Favourite track: Claim (being an album that venerates women, stating that "somebody should have claimed you" feels way off.)
Track for track:
Copycat: 2/10
Idontwanabeyouanymore: 6/10
my boy : 8/10 (the originality found here is great)
watch : 3/10
party favor: 6/10
bellyache: 7/10 (an interesting blend of indie and electronica)
ocean eyes: 9/10
hostage: 8/10 (really well written)
For a debut this is really well created, especially as a pop-album.
There a unique color to her songs, which actually makes her music quite enjoyable here
I definitely can see that it is packaged for a listener who loves pop, but this ... read more
An interesting new chapter for Daphni, starting strong, ending strong but falling apart in the middle.
Will update after numerous listens, as is expected with Daphni, there seems to be a lot hiding here.
Favourites: Poly(Caribou truly meets Daphni here), Life's What You Make It & Carry On.
So ready for this movie.
Had this album been soundtrack-ed to any decent movie it would be worshiped, with original tracks from:
Thom Yorke, The Killers, Bon Iver, St. Vincent, Grizzly Bear, Black Rebel Motorcylce Club, Lykke Li & Death Cab for Cutie is quite jaring to think about but again utterly wasted on a terrible movie:
Meet Me on the Equinox 6/10
Friends 6/10
Hearing Damage 10/10 (One of Thom's best solo pieces to date)
Possibility 7/10
A White Demon Love Song 8/10
Satellite Heart 7/10

80:
Its an enormous album, so my score will probably change and the songs are complex and messy further hinting at the need to dissect this album, I'm excited to get lost in this album but so far its not the AOTY.
Update:
88 - grower, each song spirals into itself with eons worth of textures and layers and once fully digested it becomes this odyssey of the modern landscape we find ourselves in.
Its something that english artists have this amazing ability to do and its no surprise since the ... read more

The NBD continue to successfully grapple with what it means to be a rock band in the 21st Century without entirely being devoured by pop-centric demands.
Overall its a good ep, and shows a progression of the bands sound,
71- worth a listen
22nd September releases are all really disappointing, big albums turning out to be very average sized.
Disclaimer: leaked listen
Track for Track:
1.Revelation #12: 5/10
Pretty Average stuff, chorus is horrendous
2. Tattooed In Reverse: 4.5/10
At its worst this sounds like Imagine Dragons at its best it shows new experimentation for Manson
3. W.K.W.Y.FUCKING.L: 7.5/10
4. SAY10: 8.5/10
Starts off sounding as if it was co-produced by Trent Reznor and explodes into something classically Manson.
5.KILL4ME: 8/10
This sounds a great deal better with the rest of the album surrounding it, it makes ... read more
2/2 could Marilyn Manson be coming out with a good album after all this time? what? Trump truly does bring the best out of Manson ^^
Its an unnaturally groovy track for Manson, QOTSA kind of groovy.. That being said the chorus is pretty lukewarm. Still its a sign of variation for the upcoming album and I'm all for it
Also the album has been leaked, so why not,
Chester Bennington's first band had quite the unique sound,
Just Like Heroin
Sometimes
The Down Syndrome
Soul Song
& The Down Syndrome (Acoustic)
As far as unsigned rock artists go in the 90's this is a stellar album, especially the songs mentioned above, I completely recommend you check this out, It's truly something hearing a young Chester Bennington over this almost jazz-rock fuck you instrumentation.
