I almost made a video about this album, but the sentiments here materialized into a new project. That said, I still really enjoy this little essay/script thing and I'm thankful for the personal growth I went through because of this project. I put timestamps for where I was gonna say stuff. Classic and so much better musically than anyone admits. Super influential too, just a massive project tbh.
Reviews on this are saddd man this has aged so much better than most of his work it's probably my favorite Skrillex project at this point. It's so much more detailed and crazy than some of his later production and most of these tracks are absolutely bursting with ideas. My favorites are the title track, fucking die 2 and with you, friends. The way Skrillex plays with rhythm on this EP is just nutty. Electro Skrillex is the best Skrillex.
Really strong lyrically. While there isn't a TON of variety among the instrumentals, I think it works to create a sort of spoken word atmosphere. This would kill on a long walk or hike I think. I've spent a couple short walks to class with this album and it's both contemplative and upbeat. It has a good drive and again lyrically it's great. Worth a listen!
