The production is revolutionary. Each sound is so well placed and everything is so dynamic... It's chaotic and constructed at the same time. To me, it was one of the few projects (with Rustie) that anticipated the 2010's futuristic and deconstructed digitalism of some musicians like SOPHIE.

Why so much hate ? I can't stop listening to it. To me, this is not "unfinished" as everyone says, this is wonderfully minimalist and this is why it has so much power.

"Fans that just want a XXX 2 will likely be disappointed" - Paste. Lol I would have said the exact opposite. I missed the groove of his first mixtapes and I'm pleased he's kinda gone back to it on uknowhatimsayin. I definitely prefer the old school Danny, and the album's second part absolutely bangs.

Quite beautiful but in an almost too conventional way. The songs' melodies are surprisingly static for an Avey Tare album. It's more balanced than Eucalyptus or Tangerine Reef but unfortunately there aren't tracks as rich, deep and beautiful as Melody Unfair, Ms Secret, Season High or Palythoa. And no growers that reveal their creativity with time like Inspector Gadget, Buxom or Best of Times. Avey Tare is definitely better when he composes loose songs' structures rather than "binary" ... read more
