I have such huge nostalgia for this album. Sends me back to simpler times.
Fave tracks: Can't You See, Fall Harder, Fiona Coyne
Much more consistent than Homework, but most of the tracks feel like they’re not fully fleshed out. It’s not until Alice 2007 that a lot of these songs reach their potential.
Best tracks: Human after all, robot rock, emotion
Worst tracks: prime time of your life
There are some high highs, and I have a lot of nostalgia for this album, but a bunch of the tracks are brutal. Half the songs are skips. Teachers is legitimately one of the worst tracks I’ve ever heard.
Best tracks: Revolution 909, Da Funk, Indo Silver Club
Worst tracks: Rolling and Scratching, Teachers, Rock n Roll
Fave tracks: This Calling, Not Alone, Six, The Air That I Breathe
Jay-Z was a pretty random start. The song titles aren't as fun as Under the Cork Tree, but this album is great.
Fave tracks: Thriller, "The Take Over, the Breaks Over", I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You), Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, G.I.N.A.S.F.S.
The monologue at the end of the 12th track felt out of place
Fave tracks: Dance, Dance, Sugar, We're Goin Down, I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song)
Some of these songs feel like they're out of the late 1800s. I think I just don't like Baroque Pop.
Fave tracks: Nine in the Afternoon
I hated the long names when this came out but now they're endearing. The fishbowl heads song sounded really different from how I remembered.
Fave tracks: The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage, London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines, Time to Dance, I Write Sins Not Tragedies
The riffs, drums, and vocals are sooooo good. Pure melodic metal fun.
Fave tracks: This Is Absolution, The Arms of Sorrow, My Curse
The ballads don't hit as hard as the singles
Fave tracks: Dr. Feelgood, Kickstart My Heart
Fun from start to finish
Fave tracks: What's My Age Again?, Adam's Song, All The Small Things
White people must have lost their minds hearing this in the late 80s. Many of the beats are so basic though and there were a bunch of skips in the second half
Fave tracks: Straight Outta Compton, Fuck tha Police, Parental Discretion Iz Advised
This album immediately hit me in the face with nostalgia. Party Rock Anthem defined a generation. Unfortunately the other songs are not good.
Fave tracks: Party Rock Anthem, Sexy and I Know It, We Came Here To Party
