Disappointed to be honest. Obviously freddie gibbs is an amazing rapper and uncle alc is one of the best to ever do it so there was no world where this wasn't going to be at the very least listenable but there were almost no stand outs across the entire record and the production was very ordinary for the alchemist's standards. Definitely failed to live up to the previous instalment in this series.
The final two tracks on this thing are unbelievable. So hyped for the upcoming album
Boris' flood is about a tsunami. The unfaltering strength of water, the life blood of all that exists. As far as our scientific knowledge is aware, all life requires water more than anything else to have even come into existence. A dependence so strong that even now we can't go even a few days without it.
This album is split up into 4 parts. 4 floods. The first is the constant swelling and eventual arrival of water onto land- a flood. It is damaging even terrifying but it is a mere ... read more
As far as Bowie goes this album definitely didn't knock my socks off but god is it a solid offering from front to back, not a single weak track here and some great highlights like 'Word on a Wing' one of my favourite Bowie songs to date.
The sounds here invoke this feeling of complete and utter freedom, just a true sense of flying through an endless expanse with not a care in a world, probably due in part to the copious amount of cocaine the man was getting through following the ... read more
His voice became kinda unbearable after a while, instrumentally there were a few alright moments but not enough to save it from utter mediocrity.
I will be completely transparent, I only listened to this because of that sick ass album cover and thankfully I was not disappointed because this album is terrifying, everything about it is dreadful and horrifying but in a blissful and post human way. The whole time I was listening to this record I couldn’t help but imagine a sci-fi “crystal world” where everything has ceased to exist. A mass extinction if you will
Really cool soundscapes across the board with 2 great highlights and an awesome atmosphere. Would recommend!
I’m lost for words. I knew I had to do this album at some point and well, here we are. The clash between the quieter, more serene moments on this album with the abrasive, dark and chaotic extremities make for one of the most dynamic, engaging and captivating listening experiences I’ve ever had the utter privilege to bare witness to. Like seriously we live in a time where this stuff is just freely available for anyone to experience and enjoy what the fuck??? While songs like For M., ... read more
outside of the masterpiece that is I want to be there, this right here is the best damian ojeda project to grace my ears. The vocal performance on this EP is fucking incredible, the anguish and sorrow is tangible with every word and the instrumentation is just on point. The intro track 'ametic' in particular is fucking incredible
Fucking incredible. This album has all the makings of a perfect 10/10 all it needs is time before it gets there, Dream House, Vertigo, Please Remember, The Pecan Tree, Sunbather... this album is just the perfect demonstration of blast beats, screamo vocals and fuzzy shoegaze meeting together to create something other worldly.
this is the first time I've thoroughly enjoyed a country album. HUGE moment for my musical journey. Also Cameron Winter's voice is fucking insane wtf?!?!
I think Mcihael Gira just ripped out my brain, rewired it completely put it back in then caused it to implode.
I’ve yet to hear every Swans album but if this isn’t their best album then idk what to say cause this was fucking unbelievable.
Fucking WOW. Kendrick and Nas absolutely destroyed their features, pharrell’s best production to date from what I’ve heard, Pusha and malice sound like they haven’t aged a day BUT THEY BUTCHERED SO BE IT WHAT WAS THASAAAT
Edit: they fixed so be it π«¦
Grooviest groove to ever grove. This album is the soundtrack to a hot summer day on a tropical beach. Perfectly encapsulating everything about the environment from the sweltering heat to the blissful glee that arises from spending time on the beach. The bass licks are filthy and the riffs are so so so fucking fun
Not dissimilar to the bands previous album 'God's Country' this album continues the themes of self deprivation and suicidal ideation backed by incredible bass and guitar tones. This album's production is definitely higher quality stripping away the muddy charm that their last album featured but that's such a small detail which can be overlooked. The song writing is amazing and complex with constant jumping from cleans to screams to satanic sludgy roars making for an ... read more
holy fucking shit balls, those guitar tones and bass explosions had my ears trembling but they don't even compare to how fucking incredible those vocals were. FUCK YOU GRIMACE
