The highs are really high but it was surprisingly boring.

I found this CD at Goodwill. I just picked a random one off of the shelf to test a new boombox I wanted to get and this was the one fate brought to me. And since it was a real album and not some christmas compilation, I decided to buy it. I had fun with my friend and her sister that day. But afterwards, she posted a picture of me to her story and I was so ugly in that pic that I kinda felt bad. But also, my friend is really hot, so I'm hoping that seeing a picture of my ugly face and fat ... read more

Solidifies SZNZ as an amazing project, which in turn solidifies Weezer as one of the bravest and most interesting bands working today.
Best Tracks:
I Want a Dog
Basketball
Dark Enough to See the Stars
Classic after classic. Melodies that sound like they've been in my life since it started. It's an actual classic.
Best Tracks:
Can't Dance, Don't Ask Me
What Happens After You?
Run, Raven, Run
The worst of the SZNZ pretty easily, but that closer makes up for it so hard.
Best Tracks:
Lawn Chair
The Opposite of Me
Thank You and Good Night
Pretty easily the best thing the band has ever done. Peak not wanting to kill yourself music.
Best Tracks:
Angels on Vacation
The Garden of Eden
Sound of Drums.
It's Green Album 3. Maladroit was Green Album 2 and now this is Green Album 3. And I hate The Green Album.
Best Tracks:
Hero
1 More Hit
Precious Metal Girl
I forgot how amazing this was. Weezer takes heavy inspiration from electronic pop and makes their immense hatred for their deeply stupid fans well known with this one. Weezer fans HATE interesting music. Can't Knock the Hustle is Thank God For Girls level of peak, but unlike the White Album, that high is consistent throughout the rest of the album.
Best Tracks:
Can't Knock the Hustle
Too Many Thoughts in My Head
Byzantine
California Snow
One of the most worthless albums I've ever had the displeasure of hearing. Sure it's cute, but that doesn't matter. These are all just worse versions of good songs. There's no changes here. They sound like drunk uncles at a shitty karaoke machine.
Best Tracks: NONE!
Probably the only negatively received Weezer album that I'd be pretty embarrassed to admit that I liked. They're AJR-maxxing HARD here and a lot of these are tracks that I have fun listening to, but I would NEVER play any of these songs in front of people except for maybe Mexican Fender or Weekend Woman. Also Beach Boys is really racist for some reason.
Best Tracks
Mexican Fender
Weekend Woman
QB Blitz
La Mancha Screwjob
Thank God for Girls is the best thing Weezer has ever released, and I seriously doubt they'll ever come close to these heights again. And I think the rest of the album unfortunately suffers for it. I'm sure if it wasn't for Thank God For Girls, the album would be received better in my mind, but the rest of the album kinda tapers off. Endless Bummer is another top 5 track from the band, though.
Best Tracks:
Thank God For Girls
King of the World
Jacked Up
Endless Bummer
I completely forgot how amazing this was? Weezer lets go of their need to appeal to their fans and just fully embraces what they want to do and it pays off greatly. All the melodies transcend time and they manage to do genuinely interesting things with the guitar, something I thought they were entirely incapable of doing.
Best tracks:
Eulogy for a Rock Band
Da Vinvi
Go Away
Foolish Father
I haven't been relistening to it as much as I wish, but I have a feeling that this band is going to be a mainstay in my rotation. Maps really is the highlight, and it's quite hard for the rest of the album to "catch up" so to speak.
Best Tracks:
Maps
Tick
Black Tongue
Poor Song
