THIS ALBUM WAS SO CLOSE TO BEING GOOD. This one actually kind of hurts to listen to. Camila Cabello has never dropped a good album. For years, she’s seemingly been crushed by the pressure of the song “Havana” which has defined her whole image. This thing, on paper, is really good. Like, very good. A tortured pop star just letting loose and making a push, experimenting. But she kind of halfway does that. If she had fully committed to it, I would genuinely think this could be ... read more
I was never there for Lupe’s prime. Call me a youngin, but the first real exposure I ever had to him besides hearing the singles off of the disastrous “Lasers” were his features on Kanye’s works when I got into rap. I’m not in love with this project, it just kind of sounds like him rapping to his influences, but his admiration for the works of contemporaries like GZA are on full display. I can really respect him for it. The album is nice and sounds very polished, ... read more
Wow, judging from the stark contrast between this rating and the user score this’ll be a spicy take. I’m not even gonna get into the whole “this is my opinion” disclaimer because obviously it is. This thing kind of just sucks. Lil Yachty’s venture into psychedelia and stoner music has been very disappointing. And I know, killing two birds with one stone, I did not care much for “Let’s Start Here.” which I gave a 58/100. I just can’t take ... read more
Wtf is this cover lol ππππ
Okay, looks like this will be a hot take, but this is actually not bad. Not even just “not bad”, it’s actually good. The main problem by far is the fact that she’s wearing her influences on her sleeve so blatantly that it can almost get cringey at points. In general, this is a pretty “cringe” album, filled with pretty childish songwriting, but some of that youthfulness really helps this album. The sound she has for this ... read more
Started pretty alright, then got really bad, and they managed to absolutely eat on that final track. I am absolutely not a pop punk lover. Not to say I hate all pop punk, but it’s definitely one of the worse genres out there I would say. This album could sometimes teeter too close to standard pop punk. That drum mix is so sterilized and bland. It’s lowkey gross to listen to as a drummer. And it’s not like I’ve done any better on the drums I’ve mixed, but for like a ... read more
Braid is kind of a one album wonder. Frame and Canvas was a pretty beloved third wave emo project, while the rest of their stuff I’ve never really heard any talk of. While it can get pretty formulaic, it’s just great post hardcore music that’s resonated with me for years. The very raw sound of the album adds so much to that gray, murky feeling of the album cover. “A Dozen Roses” is in a lot of ways the perfect emo song and one of my favorites ever.
A little nice run at the end of the album can’t negate the fact that on its own it’s lowkey bad. Lucki in 2024 is like when Tracy McGrady was on the Pistons. He’s not bad, he can still provide quality, but my boy is WASHED. Lucki is WASHED. This sound is dead. Future and 42 Dugg carried their respective songs while the rest of this just sucks. Forgettable production, a track list that’s way too long. It’s just not great. There’s still some hints of ... read more
I’ll start trying to continue my venture into listening to the top 10 albums per year that I dropped a few months ago, so here’s Moanin! This album is so iconic it was an initial shock to me it wasn’t number 1 this year. But Coltrane had a generational run so I can’t be too surprised. This album just has a certain aura and vibe that’s unmatched. I remember doing jazz camps years ago and I would have to iron out Blues March on drumset as a beginning drummer and it ... read more
I decided to check out Tommy Richman’s sole album/mixtape, ALLIGATOR. He had a period on tiktok where he absolutely blew up for a good month or two stretch, while this since seemed to taper down and a lot of his audience has turned on him. Even if he’s nowhere near as popular as he once was with the leaks, I wanted to at least give him a fair shot. I have not liked him since the leaks at all. I thought his sound was really boring and generic. He tried to do a trendy nu-disco type of ... read more

Yeah, this thing is that good. I’m a huge Charli xcx fan, so the fact it’s taken me this long to listen to it is kinda crazy, but I’ve been jetlagged in Europe and I’m sick as hell so I just wanted to listen on a clear mind. Welp, my mind is clear! This thing has gained a ton of attention, good or bad, recently. From the very controversial guerilla marketing Charli used to promote this album including ... read more

And thus concludes, on a very weak note, the AC/DC discography. At this point, the band had a lot of issues. Half the band had left, including drummer Phil Rudd who gained worldwide attention for issuing several murder threats ... read more

Oh, yeah, this is modern AC/DC alright. “Rock or Bust”… definitely bust. The production on this thing is so boomy, unstable, and the crash cymbals are mixed like such shit that they literally tend to clip out. It is THAT BAD. This is somehow ... read more
I’ve never seen someone so blown up for literally no reason at all lol. Painfully mediocre music. This and Million Dollar Baby are nowhere near songs of the summerππ

Yeahhhhh this is an AC/DC album all right. I probably will theorize that this is when their sound just dies. They were probably nearing their 50s when they made this, and it shows. They reuse so many lyrics and melodies from their earlier albums and it’s just very awkward and off putting. I ... read more

This is the AC/DC I can get behind for sure. Not a bad sound at all. It’s mixed alright. It’s performed alright; Brian Johnson sounds much more rejuvenated and back to form. Overall, it’s an alright album. I also appreciate how they further switch up their sound in subtle ways from Blow Up ... read more

I can’t even dislike this one. There’s something about how they reinvent their sound that lends them SOOOO much respect and credit on this album. With the extremely poor critical receptions they garnered on their previous two efforts, they ended the 1980s out with a professionally produced and very polished ... read more

It can’t get WORSE? Boy was I wrong. 0/10.
Holy shit. The first line is what I said after Flick of the Switch. That album was so brutally ugly. It sounded horrendous and their sound was so tired and they already started to sound old. To my shock, this sounds SO MUCH WORSE. This makes Flick of the Switch look like a masterpiece. ... read more

This thing is REALLY bad dude. This is the first AC/DC album I would argue so far has been downright bad. For Those About to Rock was definitely mind numbing below average, but not as terrible as this yikes. I listened to the first song and said “let them cook” and wow they burnt it. It is charred black.
