This was a great next step in their evolution. Love that they fleshed out their 80s sound, borrowing more acoustic sounds and a Billy Joel-Elton-esk style. They improved on the ballad/slower songs and had some nice experimentation with backing vocals and choirs. Some of their best work, but it's lacking a little musical cohesion at the end of the album.

If Fiona Apple and Mistki had a baby and they fed it anti-depressants and let it sunbathe... They always do a great job at their high points and cohesion. Perfect evolution from their last project; it retains the same feel and production while exploring new vocals and style.

Oh, we [imminent economic downturn] are so back. Gaga heard the soft cries of recession and decided to drop a banger album. Too bad she tacked on "Die With A Smile"; cohesion was off the charts.

So underrated. This project delivers summer-y, R&B-soul, and alternative vocals and production on each track. Lenae's vocals toe the line between soulful pop and mysterious alt-R&B so well. Originally, I listened to Love Me Not and was pleasantly surprised that the rest of the album kept up. Impressively cohesive without becoming monotonous.

Sounds like the culmination of The Weeknd's career (minus most of the edgy, horny R&B era), like a perfect goodbye to his name. Balances his dark, mysterious R&B of Trilogy and his recent synth-80s inspired pop. Even though it is a very long album, he keeps it from being too repetitive and has kept me wanting to reduce the number of tracks to a minimum. A commendable amount of cohesion and reduction of horny, cringey lyrics that he unfortunately falls for.

It is the strangest mix of mysterious, experimental sounds and banjo-folk sounds and lyrics, yet it draws the listener in for 20 whole tracks. I wished it was more cohesive and shortened but it remains as a feat of musical and lyrical talents to hold on to this strange pattern until the album's end.

Glad to see artists in 2024 experiment lyrically and sonically. Even though some moments didn't hit, they were good signs of this project's uniqueness and unabashed style and personality. She has incredible delivery skills and knows how to take up space on a track with her personality and ad-libs. Great rapping and R&B moments. I wish it would have taken a more musically cohesive route but it still stands as a bright breakout for her. I am looking forward to her next project.

Yes, I'll still eat up Kendrick's high-quality scraps. Different style and creative direction than his last albums but an expected release after his summer escapades. Great vocal features and experimentation with melodies. I guess the production on this redeems Jack Antanoff from his disaster TTPD. Lacks thematic and musical cohesion.
