Today my dog died. It was the worst I have felt in a while, after seeing him get worse and worse as the weeks went by. He had been with me from childhood until now, and I knew it was his time to go. That didn't take away any less pain though. I loved him, he was with me through my toughest moments in life. He was a great friend and I'll miss him forever.
I've been grieving for the past hour, and listening to this song has helped a lot. This is a reason why Harrison was the best Beatle, because ... read more
Dave Grohl is a very talented dude, and while this is usually pretty good, I just wish it would be pretty great. Songs like Monkey Wrench, My Hero, and by far Everlong do the heavy lifting for this album.
A good album but one that is very clearly carried by its title track. Well actually I like Bell Bottom Blues a lot too, but Layla is the clear highlight, and is probably a top 5-10 love and rock song is all time. The rest is solid, but lots of tracks have a tendency to run a little too long. The playing here is undeniably really good, it's just not overall the most engaging album despite some real highs.
A wonderful display of this artist's production capabilities. A nice breezy listen with great Boom Bap and Lofi soundscapes. In fact, the whole thing feels like a nice little love letter to hip hop, as there are multiple genres on display on a couple of the songs here, like trap and chipmunk soul. This album isn't going to blow your socks off or is trying to be the best thing ever, but it is a damn consistent and very enjoyable 30 minutes. On Cloud 9 is my favorite here. Check it out!
You know I didn't really think emo rap would be my thing at all, and while it really isn't, I like this. It's short and gives me a decent enough experience with rarely any moments that make me cringe which is what I was anticipating way more. I was NOT expecting yesterday to sound like that.
A profound, lyrical masterpiece with game changing production and introspective, deep lyrics from the goat of rap, Lil B.
No words can do him or his work justice but fuck you I'll try.
To example the unmatched genius of the one and only Lil B, we need to dive head first into some of the lyrics.
On Real Plexxx, the 6th song on the magnum opus of rap, Lil B says these generational bars.
"And mama didn't raise no bitch, we bring that drama
No goat, but I'll bring that ... read more
