For me this was a kinda underwhelming finish to the acts and my least favorite of the five. Might have to revisit this one day but for now the songs were the least memorable and charming as the last albums.
There's some nice songs on here and a nice sense of maturity in the overall album compared to the works he released before this but overall only like half the album has entertaining songs.
This album is very hit or miss with the songs. Some of them capture me and and just amazing listens and the other half feel kinda boring and underwhelming. I think lyrically this album is a fun listen more then anything and it gives some comfy vibes at some points.
It is kinda a guilty pleasure album with some absolute classics that are so good. Garage rock that almost has a diy feel at points thats charming and a pleasant listen.
There are three good songs and even then I think good is an overstatement but they're so catchy and nostalgic it is the only saving grace.
I think rain and written in the scars are good radio pop songs but overall the album suffers from just being boring and repetitive in a way that isn't interesting. Make up is a really good song about the problems trans people can suffer and can hit hard which comes out of left field. The rest of the album goes back to uninteresting would likely not revisit.
I think Freaks put some really high expectations on this album for me but very few of the other songs did anything for me like Freaks does. Iconic and creepy album art tho love it.
Some of katy's best songs and some of her worst all on the same record is jarring and makes an overall not fun listen.
iconic but just not for me. Some good songs to return too but it overall isn't for me vocally or production wise felt too slow at points.
The origin of the album and the discovery of it are very cool. Overall tho it''s ok lofi and more aesthetic music which generally does not do it for me. Also wasn't death metal. :/
Such a change from combat sports and a major disappointment. I think the biggest downfall is the lead singers lyrics and vocals are just not good at drawing attention into the indie sound they're trying to go for.
I think I just don't get it but I was going in hoping for some good songs with a laugh or two from the things I heard about. Dumbest Girl was a banger but beyond that all the songs just didn't do anything for me. Some of the production was silly but high and the lyrics were silly but overall just was not for me.
Really went into this expecting this to sound like Fell in love with a girl but was disappointment. I wouldn't say it is bad but this style of indie music really does not do it for me as much as I enjoy Jack's vocals. The production was quality which saved it from anything lower for me
Low rating considering I like music like this often but everything was just too jumbled together production wise to really love any particular moment. No standout moments that would make me revisit this record besides Rain Check and maybe Here Still.
The first things songs (which happened to be the singles) are good but the rest of the album just fumbles the potential the first three songs brought. I did enjoy the queen influences throughout and mika's vocals are always pleasant at the very least.
Too all over the place for every good song there is 3 bad songs. Stretched himself too thin to commit to an idea, fumbled features ( except bmth), and bloated the hell out of the album with just too many bad songs.
Some nice features and beats but I overall could not stand Gunn's vocals as much as I wish I could have cause the instrumentals are nice on a lot of the tracks.
Just super boring from front to back compared to what we have come to expect from matchbox 20.
