Bobbing - Mixtape
96

This thing is the definition of perfect background music.... With that being said, I have sat down and listened to this thing consciously three times now and each time I walk away slightly more impressed by this project. Throughout the entire project the tracks flow seamlessly into the next without forcing it. The few complaints I have about a few songs on this thing are minor and don't stop me from enjoying the song as a whole. If I could make one change to the tracks I would simply switch the ... read more

K.A.A.N. - Subtle Meditation
72

K.A.A.N. uses excellent transitions between tracks to make a record that flows seamlessly between tracks. Along with good beat selection when K.A.A.N. is in his pocket he can deliver concise points that land well on the track. My main complaints would lie in the choruses where some of the singing can fall flat and the rap choruses leave some tracks feeling one dimensional. The highlight tracks of this record would be TBT, The thrill is gone, and Karma. The closer to me feels like the weakest ... read more

Nana Lourdes - Wyoming

Edit 12/17/2024 83 -> 91: I really like this album. Nana please make more music. I will probably have to do a proper write up on this album eventually.

Shygirl - Nymph

Edit 04/07/2025 60 -> 70: This bump can solely be explained by me simply not be ready yet during my first few listens. This alongside the fact I didn't have a proper set of headphones at the time either. After revisiting this thing I mostly stood in awe at all the awesome moments I was missing on Woe and Poison. I was also shy to give the big 100 for Firefly and Heaven which are just absolute perfection in my eyes.

The highlight tracks of this record certainly stand out but could not ... read more

Glimmers - Human Furnaces
45

With each track improving in quality this EP shows promise with just a little more effort needing to be taken to stand out from their clear influences.

Chris Stapleton - Traveller
85

With lyrics full of passion and soul Chris can strike right into your heart with some of the songs on this record. The few dull points on the record fail to spoil and otherwise excellent experience that left me walking away feeling like I had just watched a movie.

Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music
73

What feels like a LSD fueled cowboy trip this album touches on some of the darker aspects of society serving as a reminder that all things in life aren't pretty. Most of the highs of the album are front loaded with the back end of the record feeling a bit scatter brained. It Ain't all Flowers makes a good end for the album with the bonus track not really adding much extra quality to the record.

ポルカドットスティングレイ [Polkadot Stingray] - 踊る様に [Odoru yō ni]
75

Very fun and groovy record that starts off super strong. Unfortunately this record suffers from bloat in the midsection and does not end on a strong note. Last track gives off similar mallcore feels as 2013-2015 chainsmokers music that doesn't really feel fitting with the rest of the songs on the record. Will definitely be adding a few tracks to playlists and come back for re-listens.

QUEEF JERKY - THE MICHIGAN LEFT
13

Edit 04/07/2025 6 -> 13: I can admit when I have had my head in my own ass and this is definitely one of those moments. To be clear, I don't love this thing by any means, but I was a little too hard on this first time around and at the end of the day their are plenty of other projects I have heard since that I dislike more than this one. Given how much I love each of the individuals content I still remain surprised I don't at least enjoy this a bit more, but this remains a total ... read more

서리 [Seori] - ?depacse ohw
70

With some elements of production that emulate Billie Eilish scattered throughout the project, this remains entertaining throughout with a brief lull on the backend. Running through the Night stands out as an excellent track and real climax of the album quality wise.

Edit 04/07/2025: Spelling/grammar corrections dingus.

Calpurnia - Scout
77

Infectious album with most of the meat in the middle. The album takes a few songs to ramp up into highlight tracks Greyhound, City Boy, and Blame. Ending the album off a bit too spacey for my liking I still walked away pleasantly surprised with my enjoyment from this EP.

DaBaby - CALL DA FIREMAN
6

Lazy and Boring

Edit 05/28/2024: In an effort to clean up my reviews and remove the ones that don't add much insight.... this one stays. It is my first review and is iconic.

"100% agree that this album needs its time to really grow on you! I actually enjoy Dryland and The Fish Song quite a bit, but can certainly understand some of the apprehension to fully getting lost within those tracks. I think I may need to spin back on the album yet again and re-evaluate my scores since I didn't give Where Did You Go a 100 and it is one of the most memorable tracks off the album for me. Great review!"

"What a nice milestone to hit, and a perfect album to revisit for the big 1000! I am definitely super happy to have come across your profile while spending my time on this website and watching your taste reveal itself has really been a fun experience. "Not at all! I am looking forward to it as well whether it is good or not. I just am happy to see some variation on Camila's end. The only thing that does leave me desiring more is that given the territory she is taking her sound, I would like to see more collaboration or appreciation for the curators of that sound."
