Dreamy R&B project that sticks to it's strengths. The instrumentals on this thing are groovy as hell and the vocal tone and flows fit the pockets of the tracks. The only thing putting me off with this record is some of the lyrics on this but that is mostly just a not for me issue.
When it comes to DLC's this is like Gorod Krovi or Revelations. It's good but we all know who the big dog is around here.
I really don't have too much to say on this one other than I enjoyed it quite a bit. There really are a lot of things going on to enjoy on this track between the sweet vocals, great instrumentals, backing vocals, ambient noises, ect and I found myself really just getting lost in it all in the most enjoyable way. Kick back and just enjoy what is here.
Yeah jokes aside the album title is insanely fitting with this thing being mid as all hell. I have chosen to make this a 5 track EP featuring the tracks Lavender Haze, Anti-Hero, Vigilante Shit, Bejeweled, and Karma with Bejeweled just being in there to throw some chaos into the mix. Honestly, all the other tracks on this record just blur together and leave nothing memorable behind.
Smooth listen that stays consistent throughout. This thing is also immaculately clean in the mixing with the vocals and instruments all feeling perfectly balanced. Likely to revisit and keep this artist on my map for the future.
Another one from the vaults of the teenager years and I am almost positive I never actually listened to this full EP just the one or two songs I saw from a Call of Duty montage. With that being said, this thing is pretty generic buttrock/metalcore of this era. Funnily enough, the songs I remembered from before grew to be my least favorite on the project.
Fav track: Lost Boys
Least Fav track: Here's to the Best
This song is quite cinematic building itself up throughout its runtime into a climax at the backend of the track. Great on its own but would like some more experimenting on the new project.
Yeah this really does fit the title of snail core slimy and all. In comparison to my listen of the first album this leaves me wanting to say it is a step in the right direction but it more feels as if the artist saw the step and spit on it.
Plini is making a pizza with each one of these tracks starting with a good base, layering on the sauce, then adding on the final ingredients. Unfortunately, he puts mushrooms on the last track so I had to pick those off before I could eat my slice. Very enjoyable EP.
Opening: 100
Tarred & Feathered: 100
Away: 100
Sweet Nothings: 80
Japanese hardcore album that finds a way to keep me simultaneously entertained and horrified. The screams on this project are really just not for me one bit but all the other elements from instrumentals to cleans I did enjoy quite a bit.
Fav Tracks: Color Of Flower + Give a bouquet to your smile
Least Fav Track: Float in the sunrise
This thing is.... pretty bad. That being said, there are some cool ideas scattered throughout this thing they are just drowned by all of the other nonsense going on.
This new album gives my personal favorite of Paramore's a run for its money by being a concise and to the point listening full of memorable moments. Some of the major highlights are the super fun chorus of "Running Out of Time," the chaotic nature of "Figure 8," or the deep personal tone of "Liar." I will admit when I first started paying attention for the rollout of this album I wasn't particularly excited with it sounding like the band would be departing from the ... read more
I feel like for this specific one I should preface this is a legitimate review of this album (full listen before writing any of the following). This review is also highly likely to be subject to change with further listens of the additions to this album. To start, this is my favorite Taylor project to date (see my previous Speak Now review for more) and I was definitely excited for this release. With that being said, this thing accomplished pretty much everything I was looking for in the core ... read more
My personal go-to Paramore album. This thing start to finish has the band sounding extremely comfortable making for a very engaging listen. There is plenty of sparkling production and groovy instrumentals all over this things alongside slow ballad style songs as well. Similar to their previous works this thing shows so many signs of age and maturity in its lyrical choices. Pool is my favorite song on this record and may be my favorite Paramore song overall with its brilliant use of metaphors, ... read more
When I was a teenager I sadly neglected listening to this album because of the pop sound of it. Eventually I got over this and found this to be a very mature sound for the band and really enjoyed it. One song I think in particular highlights this is Last Hope where Hayley recites "It's not that I don't feel the pain it's just I'm not afraid of hurting anymore." While this album certainly is a new direction for the group in their discography I don't find that to be at all a bad thing ... read more
Overall enjoyable listen but never left a lasting impression on me, and with the revisit it certainly has improved but still isn't my favorite work of Paramore's. Ultimately this thing has a lot of similarities with their previous works, but also has them taking a new stab at some lighter sounds on some tracks. While I am not a fan of a few tracks on this thing the quality is certainly there and I can understand why this stands to be some fans favorite work of theirs.
With clean instrumentals and killer vocals this album does everything the bands EP was trying to do and even more. For a lot of people this may have been their first introduction to the band, myself included, and may hold special places in their hearts. This is certainly the case for me and while some tracks I have lost fondness for this album has a very high floor for quality. My favorite tracks would be Misery Business, When it Rains, and Fences. Hallelujah had me feeling indifferent but if ... read more
